Can't see it on website either.

I was at jb to buy something else and asked about nexus out of interest. The rep told me they got a shipment today and he opened the box and got one for me.

Gave me prices though

32gb - 449
32gb 3G - 540

Those are from memory , I was in a primary school disco and couldn't hear or write it down haha.

Noel Leemings got stock as well. $439 for the 32GB model.

I just returned from Europe and Hong Kong and the NZ price for the 32GB model is not bad. $466 in Hong Kong and between $469 and $480 in Europe (including local GST).

freitasm: Or for a bit of price comparison: Nexus 7 II price. I would recommend people buying it from Amazon but then I'm biased ;)

Open question about the import fees deposit.

Putting the nexus II 32GB in my cart via the link there's the following

Estimated tax to be collected:     NZD 0.00
Import Fees Deposit     NZD 88.85

The conditions state the following about the fee

"You further agree that the Designated Carriers may disclose to Amazon Export or Merchant (as applicable) the amount of actual Import Fees levied on the item you have purchased from Amazon Export and/or Merchant ("Actual Import Fees"). In the event that the Import Fees Deposit exceeds the Actual Import Fees, Amazon Export or Merchant (as applicable) will refund the difference to you. " (emphases added).

As the total (including shipping) before tax (in NZD) is NZD 363.27, I am not expecting to have any GST / Duty etc added so would expect this to be refunded. Is this what others have found, or does the carrier deduct some for interacting with customs?

I bought a watch from Amazon that came to about $350 and received a refund of the customs deposit. You should be OK.

here's the best website for deals that i've found:

http://www.mobicity.co.nz/google-nexus-7-2-32gb-wifi-with-hiddenradio-speaker.html#.UlEsAlBmidk

NZ$399.90 for 32gb nexus 7 2!!! i would definitely get this one. who needs to pay $529.90 for just the additional
"hiddenradio" when you can just buy the standard $399.90 one and buy a separate loud speaker for only $15 (the smiley-face one
at dick smith is great and very loud). :D
we have cellphones for all that broadband stuff and radios are everywhere so yeah.... :P

Yes, but at $399.90 it scrapes in under the $400 threshold so you wont pay it.

Shipping is included in the GST calculation, so unless shipping is included that will put you over the threshold

Always had free shipping from them in the past, but that was on much smaller items.

the difference is $40 between mobicity and how much you can get it for here. I would prefer to buy it from here as if you have to send it for repair under warranty that will a cost to you. Just a thought

Buying it here, if it's for personal use, will also get an extended warranty included AKA consumer guarantees act
