scottjpalmer: Rumours of Gear 2 for early '14 so I would wait ;-)

Had actually planned on waiting until it had been thrashed by the masses before purchasing anyway. Not going to stop me winding up the wife ;-)

Just received:

Unfortunately, we’re experiencing delays on the Samsung GALAXY Gear and Note 3. We are now looking to launch both devices on the Telecom Smartphone Network in mid-October but we will keep you updated with more information as soon as it is available to us.

The GALAXY Gear will still be available exclusively to Telecom customers 30-days from the launch date.

anyone got the gear 2 yet, had a play with it at Telecom shop and it was very good. Some reviews are a bit scathing of it but certainly looks better than any other options.

I got the Gear 2 Neo from Clove, much lighter than the first Gear.

Liking it so far.

ok well arrived this morning great delivery thanks Telecom. Must say pretty impressed with what it does for a watch although be nice to have a back button.

setup was pretty simple and syncing with phone took seconds, need to download gear manager first .
Screen is really clear but will see when we get the Sun back whether it is ok in sunlight.
Heart rate takes about 10 seconds but seems ok, not sure what it will go like in measuring my sleep time will find out tonight.
Notifications are great so many apps you can sync but had a phone call whilst in meeting so good to have choice to answer or cancel without having to get phone out.
S voice works very well and gave me the temperature in Auckland quickly
I had doubts about always off screen but lifting hand to face switches it on quick enough that you don't look silly waiting.

so on the whole very pleased with it.
