I just picked up a Galaxy Note 3 recently, and I'm having trouble with my imap email accounts syncing properly.

I used to use a Galaxy S3, my two email accounts worked perfectly there, when I made chanes on another device, they were reflected on the S3 and vice versa. But this is not happening properly on the Note 3.

What's happening this:
When an email comes into my PC inbox, it also appears in the Note 3 inbox, if I then move it too a storage folder on the PC, a copy appears in the storage folder on the Note 3, but a copy stays in the inbox too.

I've downloaded another email app and it works fine, so I have a work around, but I do like the stock email app, so I'd like it to work.

Anyone else having similar issues?
Any ideas?

yes this is normal

you need to use gmail app to not have the imap folder problem

I think

(I use email for outlook sync and gmail for gmail sync and I think this was the reason why I used 2 emails)

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

When you say "this is normal", do you mean this is a known issue?
Is it with Android 4.3? Or the Note 3?

Neither of my email accounts are Gmail, so the Gmail app is not an option.

I am using another email app that works for now, so it might just be a matter of waiting for a fix, it should work as I had no problems on my old phone.

Hi I have had similar issues. After transitioning from a Blackberry which had zero sync issues on any e-mail accounts, and was easy to set up, I have spent a very frustrating week chasing technical support with the Note 3. Eventually the shop based tech support guys removed the native e-mail package and installed 'Maildroid' which works a treat. I paid £11.67 to get the Pro version so there were no adverts. But I am bemused as to how Samsung could get such a basic phone feature so wrong? What is so difficult about configuring phone software to accept different types of e-mail accounts? I have a technical query outstanding with Samsung and am waiting for a response.....

I haven't noticed any problems, I use the free K9-mail on my S4.

Yes, like I said, other email apps work fine.
It's just the "stock" email app that doesn't.

And it seems to be the Note 3 that has the issue, can't comment on the S4.
