cbdkid: Will the Nexus 5 also be available from Warehouse Stationery from 15 November? Just spoke to a guy at WHS and they told me that they are only receiving their stock from 18 November.

Hi, WHS will be the best to answer that.

BTW - Christchurch stores will not receive stock till Saturday due to the Christchurch Anniversary tomorrow.

Cheers

They bloody better, i have had a pre order for over a week, i will not be happy if I have to wait the weekend.  Plus just rang 2degrees shop and they won't hold any for the first day, which sucks as I won't be able to get to one till after 3pm when i finish work (reason why i pre-ordered)

I was in the 2 Degrees store on Queen Street this afternoon and they said even though it's supposed to be in store tomorrow they are unlikely to get any stock until Tuesday.....

So much for the friday the 15th.  They should have put them on the website today for order with delivery by courier tomorrow.
Not this "yes we know we said friday 15th but we are not sure we will have stock in shops" that telco's seem to do these days.

I know right? I realise we may be slightly impatient, but surely the that very interest justifies a well structured and organised product launch. I hear a different story every 15 minutes, and after hearing that from 2Degrees today I went ahead and pulled the trigger via Trademe on an international version bought over from Australia. It may not have an easy access warranty but at least I know when I can actually get it.

Also spoke to 2degrees Queen St and K Rd regarding availability. Both shops told me that they are unlikely to have any stock tomorrow as they will be able to order stock from tomorrow onwards only.

Warehouse Stationery "should"(depending on couriers) have stock from tomorrow (appart from Christchurch Stores), there will be enough to cover pre orders and limited amounts of exta stock.

I have no problem waiting if they say the right days, i.e. we will release it and be in store on the 18th Nov.  Not when they say it will be on the 15th but it's might be in store, might not be, we ain't to sure.

The problem I have is that i am going to be phone less from saturday (as they said it would be released on the 15th).  If I can't get it tomorrow I am going to have to sweet talk someone to keep my current phone till i can get the nexus 5.

Whats the story with the Nexus 5 battery. I understand that its not user replaceable but can it be replaced if anything goes wrong. Is there any service likely to be available in NZ.
Most of the phones I have had in past need battery replacement after a year or so and I doubt the warranty on Nexus will cover battery

Nokia 7 Plus
Nexus 6P 32Gb
Nexus 6 Phone
Nexus 5 Phone
Nexus 7 2013 Tablet
Samsung TAB A 8"
Samsung TAB A 10"

& many Windows laptops, Desktops etc

Yes, LG repairs are done through fonefix.co.nz as with the Nexus 4. I don't see why battery fault would not be covered under warranty as it's not user accessible.

Got mine this morning. Really nice phone, thoroughly enjoying it.

The screen is really nice and from the sample shots I've taken the camera is great. Coming from a Nexus 4 the 5 is better in every department.
