JamesL: Anyone's gmail push stopped working recently?
Mine was working fine till I factory reset my phone last night, now I don't get any gmail push messages. I even tried setting the phone up with a gmail account that's never been associated with a android phone and no emails come through
Hangouts push works fine
plus arn't there rumors of a pro version coming out soon.

Marine0089:pc: hey
since my 32gb nexus was cancelled by BecexTech i've had time to think if theres a better phone for me.
my galaxy nexus has just given me the 14% of battery warning (for the millionth time) so i really want something that will last a whole day.
can anyone with a nexus 5, location access and most other common options turned on and lasting a day report your screen on time.
else i think a black note 3 is looking pretty good.
cheers.
Hey mate, i'm pretty much in the same boat. My iphone4 dies by 5pm each night so a phone with a decent battery is a must for me.
Am currently trying to decide between the LG G2 and the Nexus 5. Both phones looks great and have there advantages/disadvantages.
Here's my comparison so far:
G2:
Price: $800 from harvey norman for the 16gb (~$750 for 32gb via a parallel importing site which i'd probably do).
Look: Had a play in the weekend in harvey norman and was actually surprised how nice it looked. Buttons on back don't phase me, knock on is great and hopefully will become a stock Android feature in the future.
Experience: LG bloatware... however having never used an LG phone this is the unknown for me...
Camera: Decent enough, plenty of options. Basically better then the nexus 5.
Charge: With it's Li-Po 3000 mAh battery some reviewers have got up to 3 days out of a single charge! Very impressive battery and most compelling reason to go for the G2.
Nexus 5:
Price: $700 from 2degrees for 16gb (i wouldn't bother importing a 32... which will be difficult coming from a 32gb iphone)
Look: Had a play with one today in 2degrees store. Beautiful device. Prefer it to the G2.
Camera: Pretty rubbish but can be "helped" by rooting and applying the dev patch. Interested in seeing if/when google fix this.
Charge: Sounds like battery is not up to standard and will always be a concern.
So for me, the G2 wins price/gb (by importing 32gb however only a 1 year warranty with the importer instead of 2 years with 2degrees), camera and battery. The nexus wins on stock experience and look. The main thing that is putting me off is the LG bloatware and the fact I like the simplistic look of the nexus 5 more then the G2. Also the 32gb vs 16gb issue... It's a tough one!

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.
D.W: I've had no issues with battery whatsoever, seems to last longer than my old Nexus 4.
At the end of yesterday I still had around 75% remaining, some music playback with spotify, plenty of web browsing and changing launcher settings etc.

First i'm hearing of this.... got any sources?
bryceknz: Sorry if this has been addressed earlier in the thread... Just received my N5 this morning (cleared straight through customs, wooh!). Before I'd done anything apart from setting the language and WiFi connection, it asked me to download+install a system update! Did everyone else get this on first boot or did it just come out today?
