eth: I just noticed today that Warehouse Stationery is selling the Moto G for $254 (down from $299) until 30/3/14.

Looks like $299 to me. By the way, what physical store did you pick it up from?

Amazon now have the blue flip covers back in stock

I just ordered my Moto G - US$230 for the 16GB model including a blue flip case and (free) delivery.  Seems like a great deal

eXDee: Its the dual sim version. No flip cover, comes with cyan and pink covers iirc, and a skinny sim in the box. The skinny sim will give you a free $16 combo if you port your number with 1.5gb of data which is neat.

And the warehouse stationery we picked it up from said "30% off all phones" and had obviously forgot to add special terms. So they gave it to us for $209 instead of the $254 ticket price. Win.

Lol that is a great win!

Do any of the retailers sell it with the flip cover? Or have I miss read somewhere?

profrink: Hey all,

Looking at picking up a Moto G purely for the dual Sim capability. I'll be coming from a Nexus 4 so I guess its somewhat a small performance downgrade. I'm not a power user but going to half the ram the N4 has is a bit of a concern.

Has anyone done anything similar?

Also, is JBHiFi still the cheapest bricks & mortar store to get the 8gb version?

Depends on whose dual SIMs you want to use.   The second SIM to remain live must be 2G capable . i.e Vodafone of 2Degrees.   Only one  Telecom or Skinny SIM can be used at the same time..

Regards,

Telecom (work) & 2Degrees (personal).

Guess I'll have to have the Telecom SIM set to the primary 3G connection in order to have that working. Am I right in thinking I can then tell the handset to change to use the 2Degrees SIM for 3G? From what I've gathered both SIM slots are 3G capable, just can't both be 3G at the same time.

Maybe I need to think this through a bit more and whether it will be less or equal amount of hassle as carrying two handsets around.

Last night when I posted that link it said it was on special for $254 ends 30th March. Today I went to the store to buy it and it said $299 but the shop assistant said that I was probably online only, so I bought a 2degrees micro sim in store and went home to buy the phone online, and now it says $299 (still says ends 30th March, even though it is at the full price) on their website, so it literally changed overnight.

I'm pretty gutted as I was looking forward to getting it at such a great deal, I wonder why they did that? Usually when they advertise something for a certain price ending at a certain time they don't randomly change their mind and take the offer away. Never mind I guess I will just buy it from 2degrees for the full price then...

Yeah, not sure exactly what the deal is.. but it is a little bit strange its at full price but it still says "Offer ends 30/03/14"

Was just lucky this morning the guy had not taken down the signs :D

Yes thanks, I brought 2 one for the wife.

Hard to get the last corners in but I use a small piece  of clear plastic folded it around the corners edge of the phone and gave it a small push just sliped in nicely
