The i9506 is an exclusive S4 with a Snapdragon 800, not really a fair comparison as it's a bit of an upgraded phone.

Sorry about multi posts. It's a bloody awesome price, especially considering it's basically all the awesomeness of a Note 3 in a smaller shell

pooky: Yeah I had a look at mobiles while I was in The Warehouse the other day and asked if they had any stock, the girl there said that you have to buy it for a particular network even if you are buying it outright. So they must come preloaded with different stuff depending on the network I assume.

Yeah, Thats the case with most samsung/android phones,They put their own little optimizations and settings for their network, branding and sometimes apps in. Telecom usually has the most customization, (boot and shutdown logo, Your Telecom icon, Browser renamed to Tworld) While vodafone and 2degrees usually look like normal samsung. Which ever one you buy, you should be able to use with any network anyway

dafman: Just to check. I read earlier that you can easily remove the charging flap by taking out a screw with the cover off. Has anyone actually done this? If yes, do you keep getting a reminder on the phone that the flap is open? I ask because I may finish up getting this phone, but the inconvenience of the charging flap is a big issue for me.

It is very easy to unscrew and remove the tab. I did because I though it would annoy me but later put it back and I am used to it now. You get the reminder with or without it attached just like the reminder to make sure the back is correctly on after each reboot.

Regards,
John.

A Blocking Mode question: If I turn Blocking Mode ON and check the features I wanted blocked it immediately display the blocking mode icon in the top, regardless of the Set time parameter I have there (21:00 - 08:00). It that how it's supposed to work?

So nobody else is having problems with charging?

I have found that most of my external batteries will not charge the phone.

The charge icon does not appear when these batteries are connected.

The same batteries will charge my Galaxy S3, my kindle, etc using the same battery and cable.

Also my USB car charger will not charge it either.

I am trying to work out if I have a faulty phone.

Anyone else in ChCh willing to meet up and let me try my battery?

Yep, that's how it has worked since the feature debuted on the S III. Would personally prefer the icon only show up when notifications are actively being suppressed, ala iOS' Do Not Disturb.

Exactly. The icon showing up in the notifications makes it look like it's always blocking when in fact means there's a blocking rule active (without actually saying what's the blocking state).

I've just joined the S5 owners club (I'll have to work through this later with my therapist), any recommendations for a decent MicroSD card, it's been a long time since I bought one.

I got one of these SanDisk 64GB for my tablet. The SanDisk 128GB is out of stock after being introduced last month and basically snatched up by whoever could put hands on them...

Wow that's cheap, JB Hifi have the 32Gb version for $99. Makes ordering one from Amazon an easy decision.

I have two mail accounts... On my HTC One I have two homescreen shortcuts, going directly to each account, showing different unread counters. IIRC when I created a Mail shortcut it asked which account to show. This doesn't seem to work on the samsung S5?
