Nokia X will be launched first in growth markets. Nokia Lumia to continue to be flagship models.

The Nokua X series does not have Google services, instead bringing a Nokia Store experience and access to Microsoft cloud-based services.

I think its smart marketing getting in on the Android market whilst introducing people to some of the WP software. Time will tell but think these phones will do very well.

I'm interested in how the android developers react to it and what they can do .

Would be amusing if these eventually outsell all Windows Phones combined ;)

The square thickness of the phones remind me of the Sony Xperia P - bulky.

I think these will do well targeted to parents who are all iPhone who have to get a cheap phone for their kids to take to school. They would have grown up on nokia, use microsoft and these will be an easy sell over something like a huawei or similar priced budget phone. Parents wont buy iPhones for 8-10 year olds and the cheap nasty androids usually suffer because stock android is so aweful compared to the skinned ones, but the cheap low spec skinned androids are too slow.

The UI and MS cloud service use will make windows phone the logical upgrade path. Get them young and lock them in. Genius.

Underwhelming specs, but great to see Nokia jumping into the Android pool.

Would absolutely love to see some of their higher spec'd WP sets come across. For mine they still make the best phones. It's just a shame they sell on the lowest OS.

PS I don't mean lowest as in worst, I mean as in popularity.

Nokia need to gain back the market share that they lost after sybmian. And I think this is a good move by nokia to get back some users who like android but not the hardware of the current manufacturers. Nokia hardware has been very stable.

Lumia will get them the loyal nokia / windows users and this new X series will most likely get more and more standard users that dont need very flash phones.

I can't see too many developers wanting to maintain their app on another store..

Why would Android developers bother porting their wares to Windows Phone if they can just as well reach the large "growth market" with Android versions only (Nokia and non-Nokia)?

So an Android phone with a Windows phone style skin.

Can't wait to see Cyanogenmod on it ;)
