Greekiwi: Just go an email with this unfortunate update:

"We are still yet to receive the shipment that was meant to arrive in store today. Therefore I am not confident in saying it will be sent out today. I expect that it will be sent out on Monday. I do apologise for this delay."

Aw man :(

I wonder if any one has bought one in store today though.

Are official NZ sources only getting the grey ones? Kind of prefer the silver when I see it next to the M7. Guess it doesn't matter so much once it's in a case.

Yup, according to the official press release just now, it only comes in Gunmetal Grey.

Does anyone know what retailers have these in store? I would really like to get my hands on one to see what it's like before I commit to buying one.

Thanks.

The Telecom store on Lambton Quay, Wellington does. I assume the one on Willis St does as well as that is their flagship store.

I just think it's not good enough on HTC/carriers' part by not having at least a dummy display phone in store at launch. I mean how does HTC/carriers expect to sell or even at least generate interest on the phone? It's a FAIL.

If you are out west, NL Westgate has one on display (real handset, not a dummy). I was skeptical about the rounded shoulders on the M8 when compared to the M7, but now I have had a chance to hold both side by side the M8, though slightly bigger, doesn't appear that much more of a hsndful due to the softened corners.

Finally got to play with one today - Noel Leeming at Botany had one as well. Beautiful phone, I must say.

Have to do a thank you to Vodafone as well. Rang up wanting to purchase one (especially with the free Dot Case they are giving away). I'm still under contract but has happy to break it, and pay the fee. Guy I spoke to waived the fee. I went to a lower plan as well and was going to make up the difference. Have been with them for a long time so got a credit on my account as well!

Just waiting for it to arrive now - can't wait!
