izzyongeek: It only took an hour to charge up. Peeps at telecom just said go for it
networkn:seaphorm:weiminn: just picked mine up from NL Te Awa.. happy days.. now just need to go vodafone and get my sim changed to nano
If you're brave you can just cut the sim down with scissors. There's plenty of tutorials online... saves you a few dollars.
People never cease to surprise me in a bad way. You are ok spending $1000 on a beautifully crafted flagship smartphone, but not ok to spend $5-10 on a simcard for it, rather risking the proper functioning of the entire phone due to potentially cutting it wrong.

Welcome to geekzone seaphorm... you've only posted twice and already annoyed one of the locals.
1. What was the point of your post other than to publicly face palm in my direction? For the record I am officially aware of your indignation. I shall take it into account the next time I go to recommend something to someone that will save them a few dollars. "will networkn think I'm being petty?" I will think to myself.
2. I've done said technique twice now... The price is irrelevant. I'll also question an overcharged item at the supermarket or a taxi driver taking me on a weird route. As a matter of principle I don't like paying for things that I shouldn't have to pay for - and the only difference between the different sim cards is the thickness of plastic around the side. I cut my sim down after Noel Leeming did it for my partner in store to save her buying a new sim. They even had a card template that showed them where to cut it...
So you might also want to go to your nearest Noel Leeming and facepalm them through the store window as well to get that indignation properly off your chest.
myndlyz:
with what you have just written you might just annoy a few more people...
I think what is clear is if you are a Vodafone customer (or a Telecom customer) and you go into your network providers shop to change from a micro sim to nano sim, there will be no cost to the customer, so I would think there is no need to start cutting sim cards

I have absolutely no doubt that being sarcastic at a regular forum user will probably lead me to incur the wrath of both that person and hordes of their online friends and acquaintances. I may be new to this particular forum, but I'm not new to forums.
OVER: That johnr guy on the Vodafone forums needs his access revoked. No customer service skills at all and he always comes off as an ass.

freitasm: Calm down all of you folks...
@Over @izzyongeek JohnR is JohnR. He talks like that in real life, to anyone - even me...
Now, seriously, as mentioned above he goes way beyond his duty - he helps people out of business hours, hell he even look at things while on holiday in another country (yes, he said that but I am repeating because I experienced that myself).

Couldn't agree more. Have met John in person and he is a top bloke.
