Received it here yesterday, setting up now... Thre screen is the right size for emails, it doesn't have all the S-* software pre-installed and it feels pretty fast. Microsoft Office is not available for this device but WPS Office works really well with OneDrive.

Running Android 4.4.2...

Setting up this one...

I like the swipe menu from the right side - quick access to apps. also enjoy the Samsung email app a lot more on this screen than on a Galaxy S5. In landscape you can have a message preview panel on the right side, the keyboard doesn't get on the way.

Overall a much better impression than the S5 - even the hardware button feels better here.

Tablet use is having somewhat of a renaissance in our household with the HP Slate 7 Extreme (purchased on a whim and on the cheap at a Harvey Norman sale recently). I'm kinda interested in the 8.4, being probably around the ideal size for our use. Still awaiting to see whether Nvidia announce a Tegra K1 reference tablet shortly though, as that would probably oust the Samsung providing screen resolution is at least 1080p.

How is the screen in film mode Mauricio? Presuming that once again it is the most colour-accurate mode, despite the presence of an Adobe RGB mode...

I guess this is the WiFi-only model with the Exynos SoC? Can you run GLBench on it? Would also be interested to see how it holds up with 1080p high bitrate video and more difficult emulation (think PPSSPP).

Thanks for that, offscreen result bit disappointing, although outside of gaming probably not an issue particularly.

Pretty good build. Impressed with the cover/stand (I will get a picture soon).

I was about to pull the trigger on two from Noel Leeming but the bundle includes the basic cover and not the book cover.

There is no option to take the book cover so flagged that idea.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Quite nice with the case indeed, how much thickness does it add?

What is the weight like with the cover on? Do you think it would become a pain quickly ?

No, not at all. Very manageable actually. I think it's a much better fit than our ASUS 10" tablet for example...

May have to consider this as a replacement for my wife's 18 monthold  iPad which she is close to turning into a Frisbee due to the home button
