Yahoo Releases Aviate Homescreen For Android To Organize Your Life

Looks like a good idea, but I don't see much of a benefit over Google Now

Has that look and feel about it.  I tried a beta some months ago and removed it after a day or two.    I don't need to be that organized by my cell phone..

I've tried this, sounds good on paper but in practice it just doesn't really work.

Yahoo will have to try harder

I tried using it after a colleague really talked it up.  I found it quite... busy.  I prefer the uncluttered look of Blinkfeed.

I am trialing it since yesterday. It's not a bad launcher. Wondered compared to sense 6 and blinkfeed, what's the battery consumption like? It seems to register as a third most battery hungry app on app sucker. Not sure what blinkfeed would declare itself...

For example does the HTC stock launcher battery stops being used and wouldn't double up the battery use?

It should as all Android apps run at the same level, ie Sense isn't part of the Android OS so if not in use it shouldn't use any battery.

I trialled it last year, didn't really work too well for me. Did not realise it actually was by Yahoo!.
