Interesting if some what frustrating issue over the weekend.

We are lucky enough to have a holiday house towards the end of the Otago harbour, we are served for cellular coverage from across the harbour from Port Chalmers and get pretty good signal strength, but no LTE coverage.  I'm with Vodafone so the best the phone ever displayed was H+ but typically G.

The issue was that I could get no workable web browsing with any site I attempted to browse to simply timing out so browsing was impossible.  Applications that relied on data also timed out, e.g. the Trademe showed and stayed on the logging in screen, Google Play complained about no internet etc etc.

I mucked about with all the setting I could find, checked APN setting etc etc, but am hoping in this or earlier mucking around I have mucked something up that is causing this issue....

When I got back in to LTE coverage, normal service resumed? when connected to wifi of course everything was fine. I had a Vodafone pocket wifi unit so was able to use that, but still need to work out what the Oneplus One's issue is, (of course I am keen not to have to wipe and reset the phone unless really really necessary!)

Ironically by wife's 2degree phone worked perfectly!

could some please advise what APN setting should be (long since forget what default/original was) and what other setting I should check ( I am on CM12s 12-20150208 nightly)

Cheers

So views of the 1+1?

Need a new phone for my wife, lookin at 5+ inch screen. Like my xperia Z so looking at that, note 2 etc.

This looks more modern but also looks buggy? Wheres best to buy from for the US/euro version?

It is just as buggy as any other phone, most people that have a winge are just haters. I have no issues with mine, 38R update here. Awesome performance and battery power and huge screen for about $500 if you don't get stung by customs.

You do want larger hands with this phone though, as it it really large. If she is a one handed texter this will be an issue for her, if she doesn't mind 2 hand texting then would be fine.

The phone is ok, I will be replacing mine with a sony z4 / z4 compact when they are released.
Mine is unrooted and purchased from pbtech (so i was covered by the CGA)

The phone does have some issues, the last update (44S) did not agree with nova launcher and would give me a CM lock screen error which i had to reset the whole phone to get it working again.
I now run everything standard and don't use custom launchers as I don't know what will break it on the next update.

Updates do come every few months but they tend to remove / break things when trying to fix / add other things.
Also one+ customer service is not the best.

With the whole Cyanogenmod vs one+ own firmware coming it will be a very interesting time ahead.

For the price its not a bad phone, this all depends if you get hit with GST/custom chargers when bringing it in.
It's easier just to get one from pbtech (around $650) and get the protection of the CGA.

My wife is petite but loved her Oneplus One. Has no problem using it. She now wants to try iPhone 6 Plus - so is for sale now. Honestly 5inch or 5.5inch - unlike guys they can carry them in their handbags and purses so doesn't really matter. It's no longer odd holding onto phablets either.

I asked whether she wanted iPhone or iPhone Plus - she wants the 5.5".... once you go.. okay I won't say it.. LOL
