Vodafone pre order page lists delivery from 17th October also. Looks like the 17th is pretty likely. Very happy with that.

Spark Digital (not the consumer retail site, but still worth noting) has it listed as the 17th also. So that's NL, Voda and Spark all saying 16/17th now...
http://www.sparkdigital.co.nz/solutions/mobility/mobile-devices/samsung-galaxy-note-4-black/
The User Manual is on the Spark help site also, and other possible customisations aside, it looks like it will have the Spark app preinstalled, based on the quick reference guide also on their site (FYI for any people getting it from NL, which may be the Spark version)
http://help.spark.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/36618
Model number SM-N910U on the Spark provided User Manual.

In store 2 of the staff are getting the Note 4's and both said the 16th release date and that they would have stock then.  But either way on a day different so as long as it's the 16th or 17th no late I'll be happy :)

That's great news, frustrating though that a comment buried in a post is where Samsung NZ confirm a release date for a flagship device. I'm signed up to their .co.nz website to be notified of any Note 4 news (as I am with Australia) and nothing from those channels either. Such a shame. I feel an email to them coming on suggesting they remember to mention the frikken release date and not just post all those feature videos alone - unless I am missing something?!!

Just received:

Kiwis who have been waiting for a smartphone that truly makes a difference to the way they work and play can now satisfy their craving with the new GALAXY Note 4.  Packed with standout features, the Note 4 raises the bar yet again, and will be readily adopted by those who want a tool that appeals to the inner designer, the aspiring movie director and cool creative.

“We’ve been eagerly awaiting the global release of the Note 4,” says Stefan Lecchi, Head of Telecommunications for Samsung New Zealand.  “We’re  looking forward to seeing New Zealanders embrace a phone that unleashes their creativity – whether that’s shooting a stunning view of the ocean as the sun rises first in the world, or penning a note with the amazing new S-Pen in a variety of calligraphic styles. The Note 4 is set to change the way we communicate, yet again.”

Samsung holds that the new GALAXY Note 4 provides users with one of the most unique, creative and powerful mobile experiences on the market.

“We’re encouraging artistic Kiwis like Taika Waititi to trial the Note 4.  The amazing screen, camera and the S-Pen mean that people like Taika can capture things that inspire them, make their own notes and easily share the output with the people around them,” says Mike Cornwell, Marketing Director for Samsung New Zealand.  Samsung is all about design and clever thinking – with that at our heart we explore every opportunity to enable consumers to do more of what they love, more easily, productively and more creatively.”

The Samsung GALAXY Note 4 will be available in-store from telecommunications companies and selected retailers from October 17, 2014.

RRP $1,149

Features in detail:

Powerful Performance
The GALAXY Note 4 embraces Samsung’s heritage of an unrivalled GALAXY mobile experience. Its extraordinary 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560x1440) Super AMOLED display produces clear and vivid images with deep contrast, great viewing angles, and response times as fast as a millionth of a second, providing a tremendous viewing experience.

Due to its large screen, the refined Multi Window feature is able to maximise the user’s experience providing them with the key to easier multi-tasking. Users can choose how they access their applications with full, split or pop-up screens, and easily change the size and positioning of apps on the screen with one intuitive swipe.

S Pen and S Note for Everyday Tasks
Making everyday tasks much faster and easier, the GALAXY Note 4’s S Pen has been specifically evolved to serve as the primary tool that users go to for common, everyday mobile device use. This new S Pen offers a much more authentic pen experience, with a more natural brush effect that closely emulates writing on paper with a fountain or calligraphy pen. The S Pen also introduces a more user-friendly Air Command functionality along with other intuitive features such as Action Memo, Screen Write, Image Clip and Smart Select that allows users to create and collect content with ease. A new Smart Select feature enables users to easily piece together content from different origins, and share it with ease.

The GALAXY Note 4 also provides users with a choice of multiple, seamless note-taking methods integrated with Samsung’s S Note application that allows everyday tasks to get done faster and more easily. In addition to typing and writing, the innovative PhotoNote feature allows users to take a picture of their notes on paper or a classroom board, and then quickly and easily convert to an S Note. They can also further unleash their creativity by jotting down their thoughts quickly with Voice Memo.

The GALAXY Note 4 also sports an advanced camera system that is able to reproduce bright and clear images. The device is equipped with a 16 megapixel rear-facing camera featuring a Smart Optical Image Stabiliser that helps counter-balance camera shake and automatically extends exposure time in dark settings. In addition, a 3.7 megapixel front-facing camera with f1.9 offers a default 90 degree shooting angle and up to 120 degree wide angle so users can take the best group shots with friends.

The GALAXY Note 4’s wide selection of enhanced essential features enable users to get even more from their mobile device. With the Fast Charging feature and Ultra Power Saving Mode, the GALAXY Note 4 charges faster and helps ensure that users don’t run out of power when they need it most. The GALAXY Note 4 comes equipped with multiple microphones and an improved speaker phone for better noise cancellation when speaking in loud environments. A built-in Voice Recorder offers eight different directional voice tagging and a selective playback capability that allows users to isolate and listen to specific voices in a group conversation.

The GALAXY Note 4 also offers an improved Fingerprint Scanner, to secure personal data and the world’s first UV sensor in a mobile device.

Premium and Functional Design
The GALAXY Note 4 introduces a new sleek and stylish GALAXY design language. The device features a premium metal frame with fluid curvature that seamlessly blends with the device display. The GALAXY Note 4’s 2.5D glass screen, inherited from the GALAXY S3, helps offer extra protection while perfectly complementing the device’s rich viewing experience. A soft-textured back cover provides incredible comfort that makes it easy to control with one hand. The device not only looks beautiful, but offers great feel and durability.

Great price from Dick Smith.

Plus currently you can use the code on their website and get for 5% less, makes it around $920 at a quick think?

I am assuming spark will add their bloatware to it and most likely disable HD voice like they did with S5. Easily fixed by flashing ROM

Nah, unfortunately the extra 5% off doesn't apply to mobiles. Tried it at checkout.
