Hi steviez

Seems to be a lot left over given the amount of replies here. Are you reading the PM's referred to in the thread?

Actually scrub that - just been back and counted the replies. Not as many per page as I'd imagined... :-P

The Smart Button has arrived, thanks Steven. Will hopefully get to test it tonight!

Replied to my PM today, sent on the 18th. Hopefully that will give an idea of turn around?

Hi Solaybro, did the website load very slow for you? we have tested at our office and home, and the speed is ok. Did you figure out the reason for your end? If so, please let me get noticed of the problem. thank you.

IS/was fine for me, even on my 1mb/s. Rural ADSL

Hi steviez,

It was very, very slow for me from work on Vodafone fibre, but reasonably fast from home on Telecom fibre. Not sure if it was the ISP difference or time of day that made the difference.

Hi Inphinity, thanks for your detailed feedback.

Arrived today.

Was disappointed there seems to be no Play Store link for the app? Went to the URL on the little card it came with for the APK and it went into an infinite loop, it opened about a hundred tabs in chrome before i stopped it. Not sure why.
For anyone who can't read the tiny font on the card, its:
http://axgio.com/downloads/gkey/glick.apk

I downloaded the apk on my PC and used pushbullet to push it to my phone.

For anyone wanting to know its permissions, it has a fair few as i imagine its a multi purpose task launcher.
Four images:

At this point I discovered the more popular "pressy" button requires you to have an activation code to use their app. Lame!

edit 9001: User error! Originally i said it didnt work with my Nexus 5. It does work, i simply wasn't clicking it hard enough. My button would make a click sound, but you have to push it firmly down for it to register.
This makes double tapping or especially triple tapping much harder, you have to do it firmly every time on my unit.

The Klick app tells me long press isn't supported. It does however pick up the single and double clicks.

edit: The item itself looks nearly identical to this. The description also references the same "Klick" app, as well as another app.

The Klick app is here on the store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.helloklick.android
When you install it, it has an english version if your phone is in english and appears to be the same as the apk above and the version number is the same.

I got the same result above with my phone however. Mentioned in that DX listing is anothe app called '360'. I installed this from the play store but it does not seem to have an english version, only the originating language.

edit2: Xiaomi MiKey app is an alternative app. I can confirm it works with this:
http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mikey-app-1-7-1.24220/

If you want to test it and eliminate the app being a problem, simply plug it in and don't install anything!
It acts as a play/pause button in your music app, same as the button on a headphone jack would. And if you long press it, it'll open Google Now:

Further confirmed by it working in this app for inline audio control buttons:

Mine arrived today, redelivery from yesterday. I plugged it into my S4 i9505. I found the app on the google play store that exDee linked to above. The card that comes with it really need to put the name of the app on google play onto the card, needing to sideload APK files isn't awesome.

It's a pretty simple little device. The software's a bit weird but seems to work. You do need a firm button press. It takes about a second to register a click and launch an app after a single click. The long click event takes around two seconds of holding the button to register. Double click is unreliable and I can't get it to work consistently. I didn't bother with triple click, too awkward. Overall it seems a little unreliable, but it could be that I'm not used to it yet.

Overall I think it could maybe be a useful product for someone who needs to launch one or two apps regularly from off, especially if your phone has no hardware button. I'll try it in my wife's Mono G this evening, which has no hardware button, to see if she likes it. I doubt I'd bother with a Samsung phone given I have the hardware button to wake it up anyway.
