I have 512mb free space yet I can't install anything from the Google store. What gives? (This is a bug right?)

Just discovered it will install things I have downloaded before. But not new ones.

Clear the cache on some of your bigger apps. Once there is some space you can install a cache cleaner app from the play store.

A reboot should achieve the same thing by getting rid of temporary files (I think).

I tried all those, nothing. Then I looked at it in anger line a Jedi. Then it worked again.

Warning to people considering Android vs ios ... go ios. If you have to think, go ios.

That's a bit harsh. Are you suggesting iOS owners are brainless? ;-)

Try clearing data for the Google Play app. It occasionally gets into a funny state and clearing data helps. The only thing it'll make you do is re-accept the store terms and conditions, and you'll need to redo settings like downloading updates over WiFi only.
