Hi everyone, my S3 decided it liked swimming yesterday and fell into a toilet and stopped working. As soon as I got it out, I took the battery out, wrapped it in toilet paper, and left it in the sun for 12 hours. Now, its being detected by my computer, and charges, but the screen stays blank. Is there any way without opening up the phone, as it is still under warranty, that I can fix the screen problem. It was running rooted Samsung 4.3 stock rom and was working fine till it had a swim.
Thanks in advance,
PSLover14

PS: if you notice that this is also on xda-developers, i'm just trying to find more then one idea for getting it fixed.

Are contradictory statements.

What I meant was the phone was under warranty before having a swim, as I did have a non-rooted rom I could load onto the phone before sending it back if need be.

Won't be covered by warranty now after a swim

Modern electronics have moisture ingress sensors... so you will not get it repaired under warranty.  To be honest if you need it to be reliable, a replacement is your best bet.  Got insurance?

I'm pretty sure he means the dip has voided your warranty so it won't matter what ROM is on it. There is a chance that after you have paid to have it repaired it may come back with the stock ROM reloaded.

I do have insurance, but couldn't I just clean up the connector between the touchscreen and motherboard as everything works on it now, except the touchscreen. I used litecam Android to see the screen, and had to unlock it with my face, but it got to the home screen, and opening S Voice worked by double tapping home.
