Yes, the top went first, now the bottom navigation is gone. Out of warranty unfortunately for me. Its a shame, otherwise it was almost perfect for my needs.

did you buy NZ new? if so you would still have warranty.

And as the phone was only released ~18 months ago, if you bought NZ new you'd still have at least 5 months warranty left.

Interestingly for a 2014 phone and non Nexus, Android N preview is now available for this Z3.

Good luck to those who have the Z3 and are prepared to flash this ROM. It's official so it will be supported by Sony.

Hi there,

my Z3 compact just recently had an upgrade which it then required a reboot once it was completed.

After it rebooted it wouldn't detect my sim card so I then rebooted the phone and now it has not turned back on and won't turnr on again

What do I do as it is effectively bricked and I am gutted..

Please help with any ideas

Nick

Does the compact have the little reset button inside one of the covers? Press that. It should vibrate. Then power on as usual.

Damn. Do you have a PC you can plug it into? Sony PC companion is quite good... Or google Sony Flashtool. It's able to flash the factory firmware.

I have tried both apps and neither of them work as the phone is not detected in windows when I have it plugged into my laptop... I'm guessing it's stuffed

Sony couldnt (or wouldnt) fix it but were going to cover under warranty. They couldnt do it in a reasonable time so PB Tech offered a full credit.
Big ups to them for looking after the customer.

Has anyone had issues with the headphone jack?

Started using a headset 6 months ago and now when I listen to music it keeps on stopping when I move the phone, contacted Sony and they have asked me to do a few software things but no luck so far.

I see my friends with Xperia Z3 Compact D5833 are now receiving the update to Android 6.1 Marshmallow.

However my D5803 is still stuck on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat. (Yes I've tried phone companion)

Are other D5803 users finding the same thing?

my D5803 got the update ages ago...from the feedback that I had here, when posting a similar question to yours way back when they first started rolling, evidently the delay is down to where the phone originated from and the rollout plan for that region...or something :\
