Does anyone else with a Nexus 5 have a charger that emits and audible buzzing noise? It's not deafening or anything, but you can easily hear it across a quiet room. Other USB chargers I own emit a noise, but you pretty much have to have your ear right up against it to hear anything.

I took the first one I got back to the store (PB Tech) and the tech there said it shouldn't be that loud and they would replace it. But the replacement buzzes just as loudly. Not sure if I have just been unlucky, or if this is the noise they all make.

I have my Nexus 5 charger sitting next to the bed and often charge the phone overnight - never have heard any buzzing at all. My hearing's not fantastic, but if it was as loud as you're describing my wife would be quick to point it out if I didn't hear it.

joker97: they all buzz

The issue is how loudly the OP's charger buzzes. Mine is inaudible to me (and my wife) in the dead quiet of the night, while charging, whereas it seems his is quite clearly audible from a distance. I would say that's a problem with the charger.
Of course, now you've got me paranoid and I'll have to rush home tonight and have a close listen (maybe the ringing in my ears isn't me, but the Nexus 5 charger.... sealed)

Well what do you know? My apologies to you, joker97. My charger does buzz. But, it is very faint and I had to hold my ear a couple of cm from it to hear it. It's certainly not loud enough to be noticeable from more than about 5-10cm away, though.

l43a2: my nexus 4 charger makes a buzz only when its not plugged into the phone (odd)

Well, knock me down with a feather. Plugged in to phone (whether actually charging or fully charged) = as near to silent as can be. Not plugged in to phone = audible buzzing. I haven't bothered turning off chargers since this was posted on XKCD's "What if" (para 3). Time to change that practice. Like others, ticking and buzzing drives me crazy. Once I notice it, I can't just ignore it and it slowly drives me nuts.
