I got my kids some cheap Android tablets for Xmas, and they are driving me mildly around the bend.

The devices natively show as having 2 types of storage, Internal Storage and Internal SD Card, then when I stick a physical SD card in the side of it it shows as External SD Card.

I've found a bunch of apps and ways of moving apps between the internal storage and internal SD card, but I need to use the external SD for storage (despite the HN website saying they have 4gb storage what's available for user installed apps appears to be about 1.5gb, which doesn't go far when half the games my 4 year old wants to play are 500mb)

Does anyone know of any apps which can do this in an automated fashion, using the 2nd, external SD card. Thigns like AppMGR III and Link2D only recognise the internal SD card.

Failing that given android is linux, has anyone ever tried doing something like this with symlinks?

Surely there must be a nice easy way, do other people not want to buy cheap tablets and store gigs of apps on an SD card?

Information wants to be free. The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it.

This is one of the biggest stuffups with android that I have found for apps. If you do find a way I would love to know as I have a couple of cheap ice cream sandwich tablets that I cant really use and CBF trying harder to make work with the apps I need on them.
