Hi,

I recently got an android tv. According to the information, I should be able to cast stuff on my phone (apps that are cast compatible, ie netflix, youtube...) directly to the tv. However, I can't seem to find the cast icon. Both tv and phone are connected to the same network. I can't seem to find info on why there's no cast icon on my phone.

Any ideas?  Thanks!

Gracie

Is wifi isolation on for the network?

Try downloading fing and see if it sees the tv when doing a scan of the network.

Can you cast from Chrome (need to download the chromecast plugin)
Also have you installed the chromecast app on your phone? (I am assuming it is an android phone)

What model phone do you have?

You can cast, using miracast. Alternatively you can cast using Chromecast...kind of. Sony Android TVs do not actually do Chromecast like a Chromecast...you won't find the device with your cellphone, but it will appear for you when in YouTube or the video player.

Best use miracast which will capture the entire screen, if you need to capture the entire screen or another app.

If you have a modern android phone, you can usually get miracast/screen sharin/wireless displah in the settings menu. Then use the screen sharing app on the television.
