Huawei have a pretty shyte OS, HTC have one of the best. I can't see Huawei taking any HTC sales at the moment.

Kopkiwi: Huawei have a pretty shyte OS, HTC have one of the best. I can't see Huawei taking any HTC sales at the moment.

I agree. My daughter had an old Samsung (S3 I think) and the screen got completely shattered so she looked to upgrade and a friend talked her into getting the Huawei P8 Lite. She hates it - reckons the Android experience is awful and that's saying something, as TouchWiz is much worse than Sense (IMO). I think HTC may have lost some sales to Samsung in the last couple of years since the premium metal-bodied Galaxies have been around, but they haven't been too hurt by other manufacturers - yet.

If anything, HTCs poor sales are due to their own mistakes rather then someone else's phones. For example, the camera has been an issue with the HTC flagship phones for a while. The ultrapixel idea was an interesting experiment but many people use their phone as their primary camera these days so expect to get pretty sharp photos out of it. If they finally put a decent sensor in but screw up the software, people will look elsewhere, not spend $1200 and hope it will be fixed with an update in a month, or three months, or never. Similarly if battery life is poor, or it runs hot enough to melt a hole in your polar fleece hoody pocket, etc...

From Facebook posts on the official HTC page, no one is taking the phone.

I haven't heard any news on companies selling the 10, but I think it is strange that the M9 also hasn't been updated to Marshmallow yet even though the M8 has. I think the lack of news from vendors who normally have a coming soon area populated with new phone data just days after they are announced seems to indicate that either the retailers are not interested or the phone importers are not bothering.

Is there a Vodafone or Spark rep on here who has heard any news?

I wonder if the ski-slope profile of the HTC Corp stock price is discouraging some carriers from taking the M10 on board.

It would worry me if I was a purchaser. Will HTC still be around in 12 months to update my phone?

(ps. if the rumour that they will be building the next two nexus phones is correct, then maybe ...?)

HTC isn't going away any time soon - both the Vive and M10 have received rave reviews and tons of pre-orders. Sure it might be a bit too late, and HTC may still end up downsizing, but they're definitely sticking around.

Also, it's very likely that HTC are making the next two Nexuses - Android Police have given the rumour a confidence rating of 8/10. :)

HTC is facing yet another setback with the sluggish sales of its flagship phone in China, told Taiwanese media.

The HTC 10 has only recorded 251 sold units since becoming available for pre-order on TMall and Jingdong Mall on April 25, according to Focus Taiwan.

Well, I got a HTC 10 here yesterday. Pretty fast smartphone, the camera is very good. The fingerprint reader works well and in general the software is solid as expected from HTC.

Just finishing installing my apps before swapping the SIM card for full use.

Click for large images (the outdoor photos are resized down from 5000 px to 2048 px they are lot better in full resolution)

Very nice! Where did you get it from MF, and how much if I can ask. Time for my M8 to become a 10 :-)

Cheers, gb
