One thing that has ALWAYS puzzled me about my M3 Note is the alphabetised app list.

Here's an example directly from my app list so you might understand my confusion:
Marine Weather
My Vodafone
My Slingshot
Maps
Market Feedback Agent
My Cloud
Marine Traffic
Mekorama
Magic Bloxorz
Microsoft account
Magsorb
Migraine Buddy

So is there a logical explanation for this mayhem @NikT? Anyone else care to chip in?

I just downloaded and installed Google Now launcher. Much less clutter and the inclusion of an app drawer where everything is neatly alphabetical.

Another very capable alternative is the Arrow launcher from Microsoft. The app drawer even alphabetizes everything into 'groups'.

What alphabetised app list? Under settings/apps/installed?

The home screen isn't alphabetised and doesn't have an app drawer, so not too sure what you're referring to here.

I'd say for many people and alphabetised home screen would be advantageous. When you have over 100 apps (incl. support apps) and your phone, a bit of order would help a lot.

It was probably the primary reason I've ditched the Meizu Flyme launcher in favour of the above mentioned alternatives. Creating 'folders' as per IOS may be ideal for some, but I find a chore.

Also with the Google Now launcher, I have the Google Now search bar on the home screen. All I have to do is press the microphone icon and say 'open mail', 'open firefox' and volia.

There was talk last month of it being removed from the Play Store in the coming weeks. Presently it's still there.

Sorry, yes, I should have been more clear: the list of what apps are installed, accessed via Settings Menu

<- don't ask me where I am - I haven't a clue: its a tech thing ;)
Housewife computerer: not particularly great at either.
And don't take me too seriously.

No worries! I suspect it will be in order of the application's package name (Every app has a package name, formatted as "com.publisher.appname") rather than the user-facing name. Will endeavour to confirm this for curiosity's sake. It's certainly in alphabetical order by user-facing app name in Flyme 6.

Not a big fan of folders myself, but in recent years I've embraced homescreens without app drawers. Possibly because my workflow is now cross-platform. One of my biggest pet peeves in mobile UI design is static icons which display incorrect information, e.g. Google's calendar always shows the 31st (unless you're using the Pixel launcher). As long as I have a launcher which satisfies my basic needs in terms of grid size + dynamic icons, I'm happy. A useful local app search feature makes a big difference as well. Google's desire to drive everything to the cloud has prevented them from integrating good local device search within the Google app itself.

The Google Search bar can be added anywhere on any launcher as a widget, I prefer it a little lower down for ease of access.

NikT, apologies if this has already been discussed.

Any ideas when the International Flyme 6 (stable) will be available OTA?

Haven't heard anything concrete from Meizu, will give them a nudge next week. I'd expect at least one more public beta release before it hits a stable rollout.

I'm still having notification issues on Flyme 6 but I just set those apps I really care about to "Keep running in background". I think the Smart Background thing is the problem...

re: Play Store install query

Hi, I bought this phone on pre-release with PB Tech way back when. No issues at all until now...I've stuffed it up somewhere somehow. A few weeks ago it was automatically updated to Flyme 6 beta something - had issues with a major glitchy screen, so reverted it back to Flyme 5.1.12.0G just a few hours ago (screen's all good now).

Pretty much starting anew, and can't for the life of me remember how I put the Play Store on in the first place. I have nothing Google related in my "All" apps list under Settings (no services, installer, nothing) so can't suss it using APKs. A straight download from the browser doesn't work. Probably a really "dumb arse" simple fix that's just escaping me so any help would be much appreciated!. Just want my phone back to how it was :-) Thank you.

Open the "Hot Apps" app & install the Google Services Installer. :)

Does anyone have issues with texts, as in if you delete them, they come back again? Also, another issue I have is if I am signing into a website, I enter my email using Google's Keyboard and when going to enter the password, the phone switches to Meizu's keyboard.
I was hoping the beta update I got last night would fix these issues, but they didn't.

To fix the keyboard thing go to

Settings > Langauge & time

then scroll down to the bottom and untick "Password protection".

It annoyed me at first too.
