Hi @lokhor, the other day my M3note gave me a notification of Google Play (not sure if it was Services or not) using excessive battery and asked if I wanted it stopped. I chose yes and haven't had the notification since.

Looking under the Battery section of settings, then Ranking, I see that Google Play Services has been disabled from running in the background - that's at the bottom of the usage page for GPS, where it says Permissions

Is anyone experiencing random restarts after being in google maps about 10-15 minutes?

Im running Maps version 9.53.1 and Flyme 5.1.11.1G

Its very annoying when your driving to the maps instructions then boom restart! :(

I did a search of the flyme forums and nothing regarding the google maps restart.

I can't say I've noticed the reboot in a long time, not since the replacement handset. But I do get thrown out of Chrome, Firefox and Google's Inbox at random.

On Saturday morning I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and thought "that's a little weird, Im sure I took it off mute". When it occurred a few seconds later I pulled it out to read what I thought would be a TXT, and found the phone was going through what appeared to be a factory reset of sorts. I then thought "oh crap, I haven't backed up this week", but everything was fine when it completed the routine after about 20 minutes. Everything is still installed, photos, documents, call and message logs etc all still there. Weird.

I must say this replacement unit generally is more stable than the original. Although the screen does have 'touch deadspots' in exactly the same positions. Meaning, sometimes when I touch a link or a position in a document or message I'm editing, I have to move the screen up or down to a different vertical point so I can continue.

Nope: but that's because at the moment I am phoneless.... most peculiar feeling!

Mine's in getting a replacement screen, and the cheapie handset that I picked up as a temp doesn't work with my sim this far out of town frownundecided

3 days after my last post I had been listening to music over Bluetooth while cooking dinner when a song finished prematurely (much to my wife's delight). When I went to check the phone I found it had locked up. No response on the screen, home button or volume control. I then did what all IT fixit men do in this situation, I power cycled it. All that came up was the blue balloon Flyme logo.

Decided dinner was more important at that stage and then we had some unexpected guests arrived. Our daughter, she came to show us the ultrasound evidence that I'll have a grandson in October.

It was about 3 hours after the phone had done it's 'thing' that I got back to it. The status hadn't changed. Not sure if it was mild panic or annoyance. Was able to shut unit off and restart it into recovery mode. Promising. Managed to find a USB driver which would connect the phone for me to sideload the update.zip file (at the same time I copied all folders to the PC). This turned out to be 5.1.12.0G. Ran through the process and Hey Presto! a working M3 Note.

Sort of. While all data was still intact: emails, TXTs, photos etc., no Google Maps, Accuweather couldn't get a fix, no Play store. I then tried to follow the tips from here to get Google Services reinstated. Curiously nothing in the "Hot Apps". I had to click on 'search other app stores' to find it and then only Google Framework and Services would install. Play hang at up to 88%, even when left to run overnight. I then found yesterday that Google Drive wasn't working either, a real frustration, as I 'scan' all receipts, pay&display tickets when I get them.

I had by stage decided I may as well throw my lot in and try Flyme 6 beta. No sooner had I done that, semigeek's post came in. I quickly downloaded and installed that release. I'm up and running again, most services are back. I've found my preferred (and paid for) Swiftkey Keyboard does not work, I've had to resort to their beta version. Also my preferred Google Now launcher no longer works. :(

Yeah, not sure why it was taken down. I grabbed it though and can upload to OneDrive if you want it?
Edit: I see you already have it.

I did manage to grab it. When it installed, NZ was the only country prompted. Seems to be running OK. The only two niggles I've seen thus far are the two I mentioned.

Have installed and am running the Microsoft Arrow launcher. As I've said before, I don't like the Flyme launcher at all. The clutter and disorder irks me. Which amuses my wife.

How's your battery life? My battery has been draining quite fast since the 'stable' update, but that might be one reason why they pulled it from the site.

PBtech I thought the you were only interested in selling mobiles from china that supported both Spark and Vodafone bands? From what I see on the site it only mentions band 7 (spark) not band 28? I could have this wrong.....

Hadn't really thought about it, but come 10pm I'm down to 30% on day 1. Whereas I'd normally see that on day 2.

EDIT: It seems there are a slew of things : http://forum.flymeos.com/forum-46-1.html
