This is actually quite compelling, compared with the Pixel's pricing!

Sure is. I'm a huge Nexus Fanboi but if I dropped my Nexus 6 today I know what I'd be buying and it's not a Pixel.

Recommendations would either be: Nexus 6P https://www.pbtech.co.nz/search?sf=nexus+6p&c=smartphones#products

Or wait for Pixel which is just around the corner

one plus 3 hands down..beast of phone..Far superior than the 1K+ Iphones and Samsung models currently in the market

Far superior in what way? The S7e has a superior camera, battery and screen.

Coming from someone that has both phones, the OP3 is a lot better on battery, even with the smaller battery it does last longer than the s7 edge.  This is with the same apps etc installed on both phones using them the same way.

Plus the dash charging kicks the snot out of samsungs quick charge

The camera and screen are a little bit nicer on the s7 edge but not hundreds of dollars more nicer.

The LED notification light on the samsung however is just awful with their non standard design and the "blue for everything" thing they do.

OP3 you can use lightflow for custom stuff that does not work correctly on samsung devices.

If i had to pick between the 2, I would go OP3 over the s7 edge.

What tripp said..battery life way better than S7E..My wife has it as her work phone.

Screen only marginally better on the S7E but then you are paying atleast $250 more

Camera in my opinion if you look at the actual results is on par with S7E

At that price One Plus 3 is a no brainer

You can get the Nexus 5X from Warehouse Stationery for $399.

No crappy Samsung Bloatware (or explodeware) and devices updates for at least another year (it's got Android 7.0 now)

I picked one up yesterday and so far I'm liking it.

It told me that Android 7 is available for installing, but I'm not sure if I should upgrade it now or wait a couple of weeks. Thoughts anyone?

You said FAR superior. None of what you said indicates a far superior phone. SD Card on the OP3? Water resistance?

Got my new 5X on Friday, ran Android 6.0 (Oct 2015) for a few days and upgraded to 7.0 (Oct 2016) last night
No issues so far, though I haven't yet figured out what is new either
