Does Visa Paywave thru ASB work thru the phone?

Thanks

Would depend on where the phone came from.

If it doesn't work, odin3 flash a NZ stock ROM and you'll be away laughing.

I've got a NZ one running Australian firmware, but haven't tried (for the sake of not wanting to) load it on there (puts on my tin foil hat). Plus i don't bank with ASB

I have a 'grey' import SGS7 bought in Australia.  And NO....Samsung Pay or ANZ equivalents do no work here (NZ).
The firmware installed is from UAE (BH6), and I am reluctant, at this stage, to flash the local (NZC) firmware via Odin until I have seen some-one else do it.  Call me cautious....but Samsung NZ were no real help when I asked them if there were any consequences in doing so!

While it has gotten a bit more complicated than earlier Galaxy phones, it's very easy.

Watch this video a couple of times and you'll be fine. I thought they do some unnecessary steps/requirements (smart switch program) but that installs the right drivers for ODIN to work.   Sammy devices are pretty bulletproof firmware wise and can usually be resurrected if something goes wrong.

Thanks for that...and quick too:-)  I have flashed other Samsung phones thru Odin (S5380, GT SM-9300), but am reluctant on this one until I see that others have done so here in NZ.  I have just come back from OZ, and residents there are happily flashing XSA (Australian unbranded) firmware on their SGS7's to get Samsung Pay to work...but here??

Q.  What's the difference between CSC and HOME_CSC?  Which should I use?  And will I still be able to get OTA updates after flashing?

OK...I have flashed my SGS7 with the latest NZ firmware (NZC) and all appears to be good.  I can now download the 'fastpay' ANZ apps etc. which should work in Oz.
Took a bit a faffing around to reconfigure everything (google happily downloaded my previously installed apps and most settings!)....but it has been worth it :-)

From what I've read... say if you're running a s7 bought in NZ and want to run Aussie firmware but retain all the NZ telco customisations, you can flash pda/modem files from the aussie fw but flash the csc_home file from the relevant NZ telco fw. Also means you won't lose data

Means lots of downloading... if there is a mismatch with csc files (region that's already on the phone vs what is being flashed), it wipes your phone. So it helps on that upgrade path.

As far as OTA's, if the csc's don't match the pda (mixing firmware & regions), you won't get OTA updates.
