I was able to setup google assistant today on my Huawei mate 9, looks ok. I did discover one issue it doesn't want to play nice with Alexa! When I had Alexa switched installed it kept on going on about some recording issue, sorry cant remember exact phrase. When I removed the Alexa apps All Good!

freitasm: You have Ok Google active. To deactivate it, delete voice training. Google Assistant will work if you bring it up by long pressing the Home key.

In doing that will they then , alexa and google assistant be able to work on the same device..... One would have to be active only on press request I imagine. They might start talking to each other... :).

i don't know if you will be able to have them both working from say the home screen, because only one app can use the microphone at the same time.

I have google assistant activated and if I open Skype or the camera on video mode I get a popup box saying google assistant isn't working ude to xyz using the microphone.

if you were to say open the alexa app then maybe it would work but having both running from the home screen, unlikely. try googling for an answer, someone somewhere might have an app or a solution for it
