I have a proof of concept I am working on at the moment, it involves connecting a mobile device to an RDP session, running some software on the server but scanning barcodes for input.

I know this can work from a laptop as I have done it plenty of times in demonstrations.

I am going to get a Vodafone Mini 7 and hoped to find an app that would scan the barcodes and send the data to the screen inside the RDP session.

Has anyone got a clue on where to start?

My budget for the project is virtually zero apart from getting the phone, which is $34 from the Warehouse.

Longer term the idea would be to get a Bluetooth barcode scanner to do the job, but if I can get an app to prove the concept I will be able to get budget to go further!

I am an iPhone man so am pretty lost when working with Android.

Perhaps something this developer (TEC-IT) has will work?

Perhaps use a Barcode Keyboard on the phone?
