So I rang my local. They have the stock there. They will be ringing customers tomorrow for collection. So no note8 for me tonight =(

Im gutted I never asked if I could pick it up today. He was the guy who is going to be ringing around tomorrow morning. At least I know it's there. 1 more sleep =)

Anyone have an email address for Samsung New Zealand?

I'm quite to send them an email, not so much as a complaint but some feedback about the process of pre-ordering for the Note 8.

In my mind, a pre-order should be something you get prior to the general public. Otherwise what's the point.

Then if the release date is 22nd, then this should be the case for all resellers etc. If they decide to move the release date forward for the benefit of the people who pre-ordered, then this should be something that is done as a blanket. Not just for some. There is even disparity between the same company depending on branch.

I don't think it is right, that some customers who pre-ordered direct or from various resellers, should receive early while others don't. How does that make sense.

I will begrudgingly wait until tomorrow, however knowing that others are receiving their new phones from yesterday just doesn't sit right...

I agree with some of your points @sattlas but generally pre-ordering doesn't give you the phone earlier. It's a way for the company (Samsung) to guage how much stock they will need. They offer additional incentives as HN did. It's like a forecasting method. 

 

I agree, however, that it shouldn't be that some branches/retailers can release stock earlier than others.

Apologies to those still waiting who pre-ordered weeks ago.... I pre-ordered from Spark in-store yesterday (Wednesday) at 1pm.  Was delivered to my home today (Thursday) by 12.30pm.  Less than 24 hours to deliver - very impressive.

You're right regarding pre-ordering being a gauge for stock and that pre-orders received free gifts etc...

It's the early release that is grinding my gears

I went into JBHifi today and grabbed one. They wouldn't let me take it with me and said I had to come back tomorrow morning to pick it up. Oh well, one more day with my Note 5.

 

Any one after a mint 32GB Galaxy Note 5?
