Lizard1977: Has anyone preordered from Spark received theirs yet? Mine arrived today but no sign of the free SD card and nothing in the packaging to indicate whether I have to go in store to claim it. Wondering if others have got their cards...

Let me know how you get one? I preordered with vodafone and didn't get one, just waiting to hear back what they say..

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Geektastic:Anyone managed to compare one with a Galaxy s8+?
Very slightly bigger, less "curvy", more RAM, S-Pen. Not really much difference to compare.

Although the camera is brilliant.

salttlas: Anyone have an email address for Samsung New Zealand?

I'm quite to send them an email, not so much as a complaint but some feedback about the process of pre-ordering for the Note 8.

In my mind, a pre-order should be something you get prior to the general public. Otherwise what's the point.

That's not generally how I've found pre-ordering to work, it generally just guarantees that you get one from the first batch of deliveries, and (in theory) guaranteed availability on release day.

I don't recall seeing any mention that a pre-order would guarantee availability prior to general release and didn't expect as such.

The confusion might have been introduced by Samsung bringing forward their own preorders a couple of days, while some retailers still had theirs for today

Fair point...

It is more the way the pre-order releases have been handled that bugs me. Sending out some early, allowing others to collect early. Just seems to be a bit unfair, when you have dedicated fans/consumers pre-ordering as they want the device as soon as it is available. Only to have some potentially not getting their until next week...Thats the part that doenst seem right to me.

I totally agree. Very rude if some get theirs early and others late.

I'm pretty sure Samsung only decided to send them out early to amp up hype around the note 8 just before the iphone8 release on the same day

I got mine yesterday arvo. click & collect. was stoked to get that pick up message!

I can say that mine DOES show the SPARK logo on boot.

Initial start up/ set up it didnt. But any time I restart the phone since set up I have a horrid massive spark logo! argh!

Im with Vodofone. Its working perfectly fine. Have not had to set up anything. But not enjoying that logo on restart at all!!

Also a bit miffed why the earphones arent samsung brand! But are AMG or something? Cant remember, I left them at home. But not familiar with that brand.

Apparently the ear phones are great and that company makes good head/ear phones. Totally better than the normal junk you get with phones!

Also if people have wondered there is a clear case in the package, in the big black box that holds the sim pin etc

I agree. The little extra such as the clear case is a great idea for use in the interim and Samsung have to be applauded for that. Am waiting for the release of the Pierre Cardin leather back case and I will be complete.

The AKG headphones are quite superb. Better than anything I have ever received with a phone and again, Samsung have to be applauded for that. With regards to the memory card, I was told that Spark had run out, but will be supplying them shortly.

Happy camper here. Have been a Note user since the Note 2, and I have to say that my little "forced" jaunt into the S7 Edge for the past twelve months was a backwards step. Great to have the S Pen back!

Just picked mine up from 2D store. Just about to head home and unbox. Will be a tough drive with the box sitting next to me haha.

Phone came with the bonus sd card but wireless charger out of stock. Apparently on the water being sent and will be delivered next week sometime. So another wait, but one I can handle.

Can't wait to unbox and get this thing going!

While I've always had Samsung phones way back to the Ace, this is my first in the note line!!

Anyone tell me how to get YouTube to go full screen? At present won't fit the full screen due to aspect ratio, but there is meant to be an icon to click to fill the screen? However I am not seeing it on my phone? App and phone are up to date.
