Really impressed by the performance, very good. A bit upset about the poor battery experience like networkn said, no whear near the claimed 6hrs minimum SOT. Hope it improves.

I got mine yesterday arvo. click & collect. was stoked to get that pick up message!

I can say that mine DOES show the SPARK logo on boot.

Initial start up/ set up it didnt. But any time I restart the phone since set up I have a horrid massive spark logo! argh!

Im with Vodofone. Its working perfectly fine. Have not had to set up anything. But not enjoying that logo on restart at all!!

Also a bit miffed why the earphones arent samsung brand! But are AMG or something? Cant remember, I left them at home. But not familiar with that brand.

AKG are one of the larger headphone brands in the world.

It is possible to get rid of the Spark logo, but it's extremely non-trivial to do so and involves a full factory reset of the unit among other things.

Going by this Guys info, I wonder if I should leave it. Even though I'd love to be rid of the spark logo.

Heh, the only way you get me out of bed at 5:30am is if the house is on fire or I have a plane to catch. I'd even consider trying to sleep through a house fire!

Try 4.30am :P

I think I once read of this 0430 of which you speak....

There's only one 4.30 in my day - and it most definitely isn't that one!!

Just watched a you tube clip that shows the two different coloured spen tips have differing amounts of friction.

Picked up a spark branded glass screen protector last night and paired it with the supplied case. Good solution till I can decide what Samsung flip cover to get.

The Samsung led stand cover looks pretty tempting.

Hey MissyMoo

Have you cracked open the freebies? Curious about the earbuds & speaker but Ive left mine factory sealed. Thinking of selling them tbh.

The speaker I got was white, arghh! I had asked the chick that served me at HN if I could swap for something I actually wanted but was told no, that the freebies came direct from Samsung.

Oh stink! I got the blue speaker, was stoked with that. I haven't opened the ear buds as I already have some jaybirds but they may come in handy on road trips for the kids to listen to movies etc on tablets.

The speaker is ok, not great but good enough to just have some music playing in the background whilst outside (I've only used via Bluetooth if that makes a difference). I'm used to my tv speakers which are amazing and the bass can literally vibrate through your body haha

Good to know. If I got had been given a decent colour I might be keen to hang on to it, but white argh. Id use bluetooth on speaker myself also.

Really would have loved to get the latest Gear VR instead. Guessing the Note 8 in that would be all sorts of fun!

Not the most impressive battery life, still better than my note 4 but not by much.
Brightness on full before the red, wqhd and heavy usage.

Im trying not to be too harsh on berating the battery life atm, I've been giving my Note 8 a severe hammering with use since I got it thursday arvo! And im no where near done lol. Its handling it ok I think & feel it will be fine with 'normal' use.

its soooo good be back in the Note world again! The S7 Edge was good, but its no Note!

I'm intrigued with this phone post launch - more so than I was before.

Might be difficult to get one although I guess I could sell my Galaxy S8+...

As am I, especially since you can still get the "pre-order" deals. For me the screen, specifically the brightness is the big draw as I'll be using my phone paired with my Mavic Pro, so a lot of outdoor use in bright daylight. That being said, I am holding out for the price and date of the LG V30, and the Pixel XL 2. Also, HTC is meant to have a new phone coming out in November, basically almost full screen version of the U11.

I think this is kind of a hard time to buy a phone, in that there are so many options, almost too many! I feel like when the S8/S8+ came out they were clearly the phone to get. First world problems I guess!
