MissyMoo: Awesome! I love that you can even customise your own led icons.
Love my case and the note8. Happy camper here
I have that case for the Galaxy S8+ but it does not function as a stand for that one.

I'm intrigued with this phone post launch - more so than I was before.
Might be difficult to get one although I guess I could sell my Galaxy S8+...
As am I, especially since you can still get the "pre-order" deals. For me the screen, specifically the brightness is the big draw as I'll be using my phone paired with my Mavic Pro, so a lot of outdoor use in bright daylight. That being said, I am holding out for the price and date of the LG V30, and the Pixel XL 2. Also, HTC is meant to have a new phone coming out in November, basically almost full screen version of the U11.
I think this is kind of a hard time to buy a phone, in that there are so many options, almost too many! I feel like when the S8/S8+ came out they were clearly the phone to get. First world problems I guess!
Agreed. I actually rarely use many of the phone features like note taking and that sort of thing, mainly because it's a PITA and I still prefer to use a pen and paper. Maybe the Note could bridge that gap?
Perhaps I will put the Galaxy on the For Sale page of GZ and see if anyone is interested...
I am very grumpy. I do a bit of gaming on my phone. The new sharper "edge" is a nightmare I often find my games unresponsive because a bit of skin is touching somewhere else. This is not an issue I have ever had with the edge screens before. It's very frustrating and may turn out to be a deal breaker.
I am glad someone is happy with their battery life, I am not. I am getting less life than my S8+ and I havent paired it with my Gear S3 yet!

In the market for a new phone, very close to getting the Note 8 tomorrow, then you reminded me why I hated (and got rid of) my S7 Edge..... because of the edge being a PITA. Is it really that bad? and is battery life pretty poor on the Note 8?

Most people are saying the battery is really good, I'd trust them, I don't think it's amazing but I game a lot more than most and I have my phone on the highest resolution so perhaps that's why.
The edge has never been a problem on any other Samsung phone, but the edge is more sharp than the other phones which should make it better, but doesn't for me. Maybe I'm holding it wrong.

Battery for me appears to be very good (compared to Note 4 and the enforced S7E).
I am finding the curved edge of the phone to be less responsive to an accidental "nudge" than the S7E, but there again, I am only using it for everyday business usage and IPTV. I thought Samsung had reduced the sharpness, but perhaps I am wrong?
My niggle at this stage is lack (or pausing) of wireless charging, but that is probably a different and dedicated topic.
So this is day 4 with the note. Still get use to the size of it and the first couple of days the battery life was just c**p after coming from the s8 and oneplus. However the battery life over the last couple of days is a lot better. It is showing a higher percentage after listening to spotify for a hour than the s8 etc.
The screen is great and I like the rounding of the glass a lot more than the s8.
The S pen I have not used much so far but it was handy when i could not find paper yesterday and had to draw something to explain what I was meaning to a co worker :)
DANOFDANGER: Good news about the battery life on the note 8, its damn fine.
Only had the device for a few days now but my battery life has improved. I have extrapolated plenty of data submitted on the internet and my current results match others. With full resolution and full brightness short of the red, 5 hrs of screen on time at %15 is on PAR. I would likely get 6 hrs down to 0. If i ran the phone non stop without standby after charging i would likely reach 7hrs+ like some of the battery test videos out there. Going beyond 7hrs will require a reduction in brightness or processor speed. As far as i have seen from peoples results, the majority who get more than 7 hrs have a lower brightness value, this shows from the calculated battery consumption vs screen on time.
The reason for the improved battery efficiency is from the software, if your results vary then you need to seriously look in this area.

Overall this phone has impressed me, i have never given a phone the allround tick. However, this phone gets it. Now the battery is not out if this world great, but its the best i have come accross in the note series and is definitely good.
Thumbs up.
I snipped your screenshots to save space, but can you tell me where you find those screens on the Note 8? I've had in Device Maintenance but my screens don't match yours. Would like to be able to see battery performance over time.

It is under device Maintenance, then click on the battery (bottom left) then battery usage.
Then you can drill down to power used by screen by clicking on it
