I tried zagg glass too, i demanded my money back. I will be looking into others like the whitestone dome. Which uses a liquid to fill the space between glass and phone to ensure complete capacitive coverage.

I hope I'm just a bit stupid but is there no way to turn on "OK Google" voice command on the Note 8? All the options are greyed out and it says this feature is currently unavailable for this language. I've used it on my previous notes.

I changed languages. All sorted. Can't remember doing it before.

A couple of you have mentioned the Whitestone Dome Glass Protector... I was going to suggest it myself after seeing this amazing install demo on youtube, so here...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tkrvZgRkHk&t=153s

I checked out the link in the description & it directs to an NZ site for Mobile Fun, $62.49NZ

from the look of things, I think its well worth the investment! that video blew me away.

I feel tempered glass screen protectors are something Samsung themselves should invest in. I would 100% buy 1 made by them designed perfectly for the phone! I get that they say these phones are durable & scratch resistant. But even my S7 Edge managed to get a scratch on the screen, no clue how either!

Ive tried a couple cheap aliexpress ones when I had my S7 Edge. the clear version was crap. it had this awful looking strip around the entire edge where the adhesive was & sensitivity was diminished a lot. I tried a 2nd id got from ali also but this was gold colour & it sat noticeably better & touch was very good. I say if you're going to go for a cheap tempered glass protector, stay away from clear ones. Ive gotten these for different phones & they all have that crap adhesive that can be seen on the phone.

So can people vouch for MobileFun then?  I see they have the DeX dock ("Official Samsung") for $156, almost $100 cheaper than JB Hifi.  Though I do note the shipping charge is $35; apparently their mail option of $4.95 is not possible due to the value of the item.  $35 seems a bit extreme, when places like Computer Lounge manage to ship similar items for about a third the cost.  That option - DHL Express - still takes 3-4 days to deliver.

Looks like the Whitestone dome is case compatible with most cases, review here from the same guy that reviewed the whitestone dome install

I use Spigen cases atm so may wait to check these work with it first, but looks like they should.

Lizard1977, valid question. Ive not bought from them before, nearly did a few years back when the Note Edge was released but didnt get that phone in the end. Has anyone bought from them? So far they seem to be the only NZ site selling this case, Ive checked international pricing on this & its crap.

Ive seen that Dex Dock on the site too & been tempted!

Mobilefun is an international site, hence the high price on shipping. If I buy with them, I will pay with Paypal for added security.

They have an NZ email address, and company address is Australia

That Whitestone Dome protector looks impressive, if seriously over-engineered.  But I'd be reluctant to submit my phone to that kind of adhesive.  Going by some of the comments on Youtube it sounds like it'd be a mission to remove the adhesive if something went wrong.  Provided you got it perfect first time it'd probably be no issue, but my track record with applying protectors is far from perfect.  Knowing my luck I'd fluff it and be left either with a compromised display or a wasted protector which at $70 is an expensive mistake to make.

I dont think the adhesive is truely adhesive, lifting from cases is still possible because of this. It acts more like a conductive filler for superior touch performance.

I was looking into these for my old s8 the people that have removed it (after it not lining up correctly or smashed) were saying it sticks to the protector more than it sticks to the screen so they only had to clean the screen after taking it off (this was on xda) the real issue is if it gets anywhere near the buttons on the side. That seems to create an issue for some (because they did not do it on a level table to start with).

it's been a while but i've purchased cases for my Galaxy Note 3 from them about 3 years ago,

took the cheapest option for shipping so it took about 3 weeks to arrive but overall was pretty good.

Also i do not remember any of my cases being 35 dollars shipping back then as well considering i bought stuff off there because it was cheaper to buy from there with shipping as opposed to some of the cases here.

I'm actually tempted to try and purchase the DeX dock from eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Samsung-DeX-Station-EE-MG950T-Desktop-Charging-Dock-for-Galaxy-S8-S8-Note-8-/272810346106?epid=755120192&hash=item3f84c3867a:g:1uoAAOSwi-1Zlqj-

Seems to be the cheapest deal with free shipping but im wary about eBay quality (i.e. fakes)

Although they do accept PayPal so if it turns out to be a dud, you should be protected money-wise.

May be of interest to some of you here.

Although I noticed a scratch on my Galaxy S8+ screen today. Just a tiny one, but I have no idea what the screen would have contacted that is hard enough to do that.

I tried screen protectors but the curved screen is what seems to stop them from working - they always lift at the edges.

On phones with flat screens, I never had any issues.
