One word of caution: Watch out for the rear camera glass, as it shatters VERY easily compared to the rest of the device.

:( What happened? I've seen scratch\bend\destruction tests where they found the same thing, so it's good to know what to watch out for.

I took a photo of a document, placed the phone (in its case) down on my desk with very little force. Picked the phone up again a few minutes later and the rear camera glass was completely shattered. The fractures stop exactly at the edge of the camera glass, and do not go into the body of the phone.

No impact marks on the phone what-so-ever.

The glass appears to be exceptionally weak. If I press even gently on the glass with my finger in an area that isn't broken, it shatters very easily.

So, I need to start looking at repair options now.

Well b*gger. That seems to be a fairly common issue with current phones. I watched a number of bend\scratch tests when trying to decide which phone to get and a common theme seemed to be that the camera glass on the back was easily scratched, so not too surprising that it breaks easily too :/

Which case do you have? I also watched a couple of case reviews and they seemed to give extra points for added lips around the camera hole; I guess they recognise that this is an issue... Strange that they don't use gorilla glass for the camera glass, though I read somewhere they don't do it for "reasons" - just can't recall what the reasons were.

I'm using the bundled case that came from PB - a Voia G6 with a flip cover. I'm not big on cases, but given the camera glass issues I'll invest in something that adds a lip around the camera as per your suggestion.

In the mean time I've put some tape over the cameras to stop dirt & dust getting in, until I can get it repaired.

Anyone use this phone with an Anker Powerbank?

I have an older model PowerCore 15600 with PowerIQ, and since moving to the LG G6 have found that I can't play Pokemon Go while plugged into the PowerCore and actively charge the battery at the same time; I loose approx 1% of battery every ~5 minutes.

(This was not an issue with the Nexus 5X using USB-C cables (also from Anker) or the Huawei P10 Lite using Micro-B Cables (from Anker)

I suspect the larger screen on the LG G6 is the primary reason that the PowerCore can't keep up

Been doing more testing with this Powerbank; the LG G6 is only managing a maximum draw of 0.5Amps while my Huawei is able to draw 1.8Amps from the Powerbank (with each port on the Powerbank able to supply 2.4Amps max). However the LG G6 doesn't have this issue with a Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger supplied with the phone, or my Nexus 5X charger (both charge it at around 2Amps)

I am thinking about doing a factory reset in order to see if the issues have been caused by the "open box" nature of the device when I purchased it

Tested the LG G6 with a Mi 10400 mAh charger from a work mate; Ampere was telling me it could get a possible 1.8Amps from the charger (max is 2.1Amps)

This really has me wondering why my G6 is only getting .5Amps from my own powerbank, and how I can fix this short of purchasing another powerbank (which I have done, but it will take a month to get here via AliExpress)

Tested a HTC 10 with my PowerCore yesterday - while Ampere did not give a measurement for the max USB charge, the phone displayed a warning that it was slow chargning

The HTC 10 supports Quick Charge 3.0 as well as USB-C.

Im starting to think that the issue could be between QC3 and PowerIQ (though my wall charger also has PowerIQ and doesn't have this issue)

I'm talking to myself here, but I think I finally got an answer from Anker Suport that explains the issue I am having with the battery bank

As for the question you mentioned, please be noted that the PIQ is compatible with QC 3.0 but the final charging speed would be slower than normal PIQ due to the different charging agreements. It is normal that a QC device warns about the speed if you use a PIQ battery to charge it. Your kind understanding would be much appreciated.

If I am understanding this correctly, because my phone has QC 3.0 and my PowerCore does not, there is no charging negotiation and it defaults to trickle charging.
I really wish I had known this before purchasing a device with QC 3.0 and that this information was "somewhere" on the internet.
