I didnt see a thread https://www.gsmarena.com/meizu_m6_note-8802.php

Much the same as the Xiaomi 4 and prior note, but this one delivers 3 huge improvements.

FASTCHARGE, not USB type C, but confusing

4000mah

f1.9 Sony sensor and quality bokeh from the secondary cam, 16mp front face cam.

Im getting mine for about $230 delivered. Easily the best camera phone for the money.

Where are you purchasing it from ?

Also, once you have it, throw your thoughts up here :) I need a new "cheap" phone but want a half decent camera :-p

From what Ive read, its the real deal. Ill be buying AliExpress. If PB get it in it will be $100+ more but you will get local warranty, each to their own.

I was going to buy a Leeco Lemax 2 due to the 2k screen and sd820 and 21mp sony sensor. but that company is really struggling and now prices have gone up oddly. the le 2 is still a good buy for $170.

Back to the M6, very solid unibody. Im pretty sure like all Meizus it doesnt havr Gorilla glass which is its one let down, so will need a protector.

Aside from that its everything Ive been waiting for, in a $250 phone, Good battery life and a good camera. I was going to buy a refurbished G5 for the same price, but with the problems LG have had with all their phones, Im just a bit unsure on a refurb. The one benefit that sticks out is RAW files.

I dont think the M6 shoots raw, it also doesnt have OIS.

However the reviews on the camera are glowing. Not only that, Google Pixel Cameras HDR+ now has been seen on the sd625 soc not just 820/21/35. Which dramatically improves low light photography. Id plan to put the API on this phone. I know guys have done it the the Xiaomi note4, but its camera sux.

So thats my thinking so far, Ill get back to you if I get one in hand. The blue colour charges a $30 premium, whilst it is nice, I think the black looks the most all round safe bet and is cheaper.

There will be reasons beyond local warranty to get M6 Note from PB. Very excited about this one. Stay tuned.

Good to see you will be getting this one in Nik, its finally a winnder for Meizu. Its almost like they have listened to the public. Same sensor as the HTC u11, of course the u11 is f1.7, but i think with pixel hdr+ on board the Meizu will still be very capable shooter.

Any hints as to why I should buy from you guys before I pull the pin on buying one tonight? would be appreciated, feel free to PM me if needed.

Yes, I too am willing to buy from PB Tech if the price is fair relative to a personal import and if we don't have to wait too long for stocks in NZ.

Under NDA, but I will say this - it'll be a different hardware variant to the one that's currently available.

Does this hardware variant include support for something that rhymes with "pand trenty ate"? Blink twice for yes...

Hah I hoped that might get me a cheeky answer. Seeing it didn't... Meizu (and most Chinese) phones lack support for band 28 (i.e. 700MHz), which is reasonably important for the best coverage in NZ.

There have been a couple of models here and there which randomly include it but the majority don't. If this phone supported band 28 it would be a huge selling point.

Ah...

Maybe you can explain in that context the following:

My car is an ex UK VW and has the 'premium phone' option. It's got a cellular radio and sim slot etc built in. When I pair a suitable phone such as a Samsung Galaxy, I get the option of RSAP. Remote SIM Access... with that, the phone kit accesses your phone SIM and your calls go through the car's cellular radio, uses the car antenna etc. It's great as it saves your phone battery, gets better signal, can display incoming SMS on the car's MFD etc.

But... it only works on Vodafone (and it's been a couple of years since I tried it). Doesn't work on Spark. I can pair the phone but it won't make calls. It all works fine if I pair without the RSAP option. Are the UK bands different to what Spark uses but common with VodafoneNZ?

Cheers

Now it's my turn to have something whoosh over my head...

Can't shed too much light on that at all, though I doubt it has anything to do with the bands used by various telcos in the UK/NZ. Hopefully someone else can provide an answer.

plus ill be slapping pixel hdr+ on it now they sd652 and 625 working
