I did use this on my old s8 https://www.nanoflowx.com/glassx

This looks interesting. How did you find it as it seems like a better solution than screen protectors that don't fit correctly and/or fall off.

Scratches are indeed still possible, i didnt use my note 8 with a protector for a while and i managed to get general wear scratches from pocket and drops. The whitestone dome is the only glass protector that actually functions and operates like there is no protector at all. This is likely due to the adhesive used that provides superior contact and allow perfect screen functionality and comfort. Also, the glass does indeed protect the phone from impact damage. Two drops with my phone which would have likely damaged the screen glass but the protector took the impact and no damage to the device itself.

I am slightly disappointed that the power bank doesn't have USB C input but such is life.

Regarding screen protectors my S8+ is a scratch magnet.  I think it's the oleophobic coating scratching rather than the glass but it's still annoying.  I just got the screen replaced so went to the local shop.  They stuck a no name brand one on for $25 (including install) which I have been surprisingly pleased with.  It's the type with adhesive just around the edges which means touch sensitivity can be decreased in the middle (because it's not glued to the screen).  You can increase the touch sensitivity in the settings but I haven't and it's fine.  The screen protector would be annoying without a case because the edge of the protector spoils the smooth lines of the phone when you hold it.  Having said that you would have to be mad to use a phone this breakable without a case so with my Spigen Rugged Armour case it fits well and isn't annoying.

Given the scratching issue I am going to do the same as soon as one is available.  I am tossing up between the Spigen Rugged Armour again of the Samsung Protective Standing case.  I am also thinking of getting one of those rings for the back so that it's harder to drop when using it while walking down the street.

I had always used tempered glass screen protectors and had never broken a screen before the S8+...

I found it good, i got it cheap as it was kickstarter, did take a bit to put it on however (like 30 minutes) as you put it on the screen, rub it in wait then hair dry, then repeat 7 more times.  Feel of the screen etc was still the same afterwards, you just need to make sure you rub it in however.

Yea i have a rugged armor as well, it protects the phone really well but also looks and feels great. Im contemplating on a rugged armor for the note 9 as well, just waiting to see how well it fits. Might just use the samsung case for a while.

NikT:

fabianz03:
So, is it going to be shipped on the 24th as originally intended?
Also seems like all of them are sold out online.

Yep, bundles are goneburgers as of today.

They will all ship out as soon as possible.

What you mean asap, have they not been recieved yet from the distributer ? Asap would mean they could have been sent yesterday, as many other retailers are already shipped and recieved!

A friday ship would mean a monday/tuesday receive for many!

Settle Pettle. I am as much of an anxious waiter as anyone. I know Nik, and I know that he and his team do not WANT you to have to wait for your phone a minute longer than you need to (Nik is a gadget guy just like most of us here). They aren't deliberately delaying it. If they can get it to you for the weekend, I am certain they will, but equally, they are constrained by things outside of their control from time to time, and if a delay occurs, jumping over him won't make it arrive any quicker, just frustrate everyone, including you.

A month from now, the date your item arrives won't matter.

It wasn't a rant. It was reassurance to you that PBtech will get your phone to you at the earliest possibly opportunity.

There are some organizations who don't make the same amount of effort.

Well, I finally went across the line with Vodafone. Mine will hopefully arrive before the weekend.

I tried to instill a sense of urgency to my account manager, but sadly I think it went in one ear and out the other. I could be wrong.

Vodafone? Account manager told me some had shipped today already, unsure if that's true or not, but logically one would assume it could be so.

PB Tech. Since they will need to allow 2 days for deliveries to the South Island so it makes the most logistical sense to start shipping today so folks in the south are guaranteed to get by Friday at the latest.

I’m in Auckland so I’m just hoping for a Thursday delivery :D

aaronaaron: You don't get any microscratches on the screens? It's happened to some of my phones in the past but maybe the glass tech has improved
I like the glass ones for absorbing the impact of drops, any idea how much these screens cost to replace?

A Note 9 screen will be LOTS, non genuine Note 8 screen replacement with 6 months warranty is $700+/- here in Chch

I am not seeing much from the people who got their phones yesterday. I would have expected some feedback by now.
