So i have had snapper via my phone for a couple years now, even switching my semble sim to my S8 from my s7 ..the snapper feature worked, including being able to top up i've basically gone snapper cardless for ages.

What i have noticed though is , on my S8 at least, and i guess since the semble service has discontinued ... i can't use my ANZ gomoney app, which is via their HCE implemention.

from what i understand the semble solution for NFC payments works outside of what ANZ, and the likes of Google pay use ... and in fact i'm wondering where within android settings i can go to even toggle the semble NFC feature on/off.

The app is actually still on the store

and while i can install .. when it starts up the first thing it tells me is that i am using a new device and that it needs to transfer data over .. which when i try fails. and the app closes out.

So basically ... am i stuck with the choice of having to change to a non semble sim card, and loosing my snapper via cell ability - in order to get my ANZ/googlepay going?

i wish snapper would roll out a HCE update.

While snapper have been chosen as the "interim" bus ticket provider in Wellington, its only until 2020, when a supposed new system will be introduced. (although given that the promised replacement is a new "national" system , I have serious doubts about that timetable)

I'm not sure that snapper are going to be putting many resources into something that only has a limited life

goMoney and a Semble SIM co-exist fine, it's the setup I use. Obviously goMoney doesn't work if you don't have a supported handset. ANZ are switching to Google Pay any day now anyway.
