Hi I'm looking at purchasing a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (AI Dual Camera) 64GB 4GB RAM which is also known as a Redmi Note 5 Pro in some regions.

My last phone (Meizu M2) did not have all the proper 4G bands which was very annoying when traveling around somewhat rural areas in the South Island.

pbtech.co.nz *** /product/MPHMIX015100/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-5-AI-Dual-Camera-64GB-Black---Gl

PB Tech lists the Note 5 as having Band 28, among others and being compatible with all NZ networks but other sites like Dick Smith do not. GSMArena does not have the information for the Global version.

So does anyone know if this phone will work properly on 2degrees 4G? Thanks.

If you buy it through PBTech (or from the NZ Mi Store), it will work on all bands. If you buy it elsewhere it will probably not have band28.  There are a few different models and PBTech are importing the one that has band28.

Thanks so much for your help. Finally a clear answer! I tried contacting PB about this via chat and they had no idea.

Xiaomi's naming scheme is quite frustrating as they use the same name for different products in different regions.
