Geektastic: I was pleasantly surprised to find mine on the doormat this morning!

Still getting used to the changes but overall very nice. I strongly advise new owners to force the software update that is waiting. It transformed the performance of the fingerprint unlock for me.

I also noticed that the ceramic back has more friction on fingertips than glass, although mine is now encased in an Otterbox Strada. I think the frame is a different colour too but it's very subtle.

Glad to hear it came through.  Did they ever send you a shipping notification?

Only when I rang this morning and was polite but firm. It was a bit pointless as the SMS arrived all of 30 minutes before the delivery.

Thank you. Still keeping the faith I’ll get a surprise tomorrow morning. If they make me go all weekend after porting me out, I’m going to have to figure out how to file a formal complaint or something.

They are acting like they’re overwhelmed with orders but by all accounts demand is waning for high end smartphones. There’s really no excuse for this rubbsih.

Klathman:

Got mine last night. Love the display after my S7E. The fingerprint scanner is a little picky sometimes (Quite a few "press harder" messages) but mostly works. Otherwise not a lot to really say. It meets all expectations.

On the Buds I'm a little torn. I've got Jabra Elite Sports at the moment and they're amazing so I've been spoiled. In comparison I'm getting really bad wireless reception on the buds. I do get some break ups on the Jabras but it's REALLY rare. Like maybe every few uses I get a bad patch for 30sec. With the buds it's constant at times from about 1.5 hours use.

I also don't find the buttons on them terribly intuitive either.

I've installed both the buds firmware and the phone firmware but will see if it gets better. I wanted to make these my everyday buds and reduce the Jabras to the gym or running since the battery is only about 2.5 hours now.

Have you installed the software update that improves the fingerprint scanner performance?

Out of the box, mine was like you describe. After the update, it works heaps better.

I see from the link posted a few pages ago, that VF's deal now includes the free TV for the S10, whereas originally it was only for the S10+.

I'm waiting for VF to get back to me about signing up a new contract and I'm hoping to get the phone as part of the deal, but I haven't heard as yet. Seeing as the pre-order deal ends tomorrow, I'll have to ring them again myself.

Checked with a mate who works at Vodafone the offer was only for existing customers who got the email.

Well I am an existing customer and I'm willing to roll over my existing plan, so hopefully they can accommodate my request :D

Well, tried to get a deal but no go. Was wanting a new 24 month deal to help absorb the cost of the phone but apparently they don't sign up people to contracts any more, it's all open plan. None of the plans that are on offer can match what I'm getting for the cost, and the retention guy couldn't sweeten the deal, so oh well.

Guess Im sticking'with my S8 until the price of the S10 comes down a bit and I can get the phone on the same price plan as what I'm paying now.

Just saw everyone's posts about the S10 being delayed... Sigh

I just pre-ordered a S10+ white 8+128 from NL in-store. They did tell me the S10+ would be delayed a week later than the S10.

Well good things take time I suppose.

Enjoyed setting up my S10+. Looks gorgeous. Highly recommend the Spigen ultra slim clear case (especially those who have gone for Prism White). Very comfortable and handy. Might take some time to get used to the front fingerprint...but the face and smart lock is spot on.
Galaxy Buds are a fine fine addition and I think Samsung will win many hearts with their move of giving them free with the preorders. Must have...awesome sound..very comfortable, good ambient cancellation. And the touchpads work seamlessly. As mentioned previously, please force the updates manually to download one (around 496MBs) which does improve the fingerprint experience.
I hope you all get your hands on your prizes soon!!

This is definitely honeymoon phase but I gotta say I'm in love with One UI. I saw videos and thought it wasn't anything special but having it in hand and playing with it more I've grown quite fond of it. Lots of nice little touches here and there. Has a level of polish that I would expect from iOS. Really glad to see Samsung has stepped it up. Don't think I'll be returning to iOS until Apple makes some exciting improvements.

Still trying to get used to the fingerprint sensor, even after the update but should only be a matter of time.

Hope everybody gets their devices soon!

I'm finding the Buds a bit irritating. All I can hear if the music stops is my heart beat..I don't get that with headphones.

I don't think that qualifies for the trade-in as the other TWG companies are on that list separately.

Just called up Noel Leemings Wairau, the customer rep told me they received 0 stock for the phones. Even though When I ordered the staff there should me the PDA they would be allocated 19. Sad to see Noel Leemings has less buying power than PBTech.

What's worse is 2Degrees is already billing me when I don't even have the phone haha.

UPDATE: Got a call back from them, they won't get any for few days to a week.

Note on the JB Hifi product pages:

Stock Constraints
Due to limited stock availability from Samsung New Zealand, most retailers are facing stock constraints that may impact on instore availability and delay delivery times for online orders.

Samsung is currently predicting a delay of 2-3 weeks for all Galaxy S10+ orders. This information will be updated as it becomes available from Samsung New Zealand.
