Ratez: By the way the phones come with screen protectors.. I almost peeled mine off thinking it was just a temporary film.

Are they really screen protectors though? I kept that thing on and tried registering my fingerprints. Didn't work at all so I assumed that it's meant to be peeled off. It felt incredibly thin and flimsy, to be honest.

Though even after peeling it off, I'm still having trouble with the fingerprint sensor. Very weird.

Its a screen protector, its even listed under "Whats in the box"

Wow, you're absolutely right. Busted out the manual in the box (who reads them?) and yeah, it's a screen protector. I thought it was meant to come off, as my fingerprints weren't registering at all. That really sucks, as finding good screen protectors for these curved displays from Samsung are difficult enough :(

As an aside, the box for the manual looks big enough to have included a clear case. The Galaxy Note 9 I purchased not too long ago had a manual box roughly the same size and included a clear case. Not sure why they omitted it this time for NZ, as I've seen some other regions include it in the S10 box.

The only downside with this phone so far, is the fingerprint sensor. Even after the update that improved the sensor performance, I am still getting lots of 'Press a little harder', 'Make sure your finger covers the entire sensor' and 'No match'. I've registered four different fingers and all of them are unreliable. I've tried all sorts of finger pressing (long press, slightly pressing, tapping etc etc) - no dice. I'll have to try rescanning my fingerprints again and try to scan the same finger more than once. To be clear, I'm not using a screen protector at all.

After watching my wife struggling to unlock it I think that positioning is really important. She tends to push the sensor like a button, leading with the tip but flattening the finger onto the sensor, if that makes sense. It really doesn't seem to like that and gives the press harder message even though she's actually pushing far harder than my successful unlock.

I tend to have my finger lay across the front face and it likes that far more.

I guess we may just need to train the humans to use it :p

I believe Samsung sell a replacement for $30USD and in some markets it did come with a clear case.

Anyone ordered from NL has picked up today?

Yip, picked up this morning - black for me, white for my wife :) , haven't opened anything yet, I'm off to help a friend move some furniture in 10mins so might open stuff this evening or tomorrow. Not sure what to open first, for some reason I think I'm more excited about the Google Hub than the phone or buds :D

Has anyone got the OtterBox Strada Folio Case?
Does it work with the wireless charging and reverse charging?

Yeah, got a text from PBTech as well - available for pickup. Will probably pick it up on Sunday or Monday (preferred a store pickup to waiting for a courier).

You will need the google home app on a device before you can configure the GHH. It is not a android tablet sitting on a speaker. It is a smart speaker with a screen.

Have got the Spigen Ultra slim clear case on my S10+ from PBTech.

Works like a charm for wireless fast charging and Power share...

Initially I had issues with the fingerprint registering.

Forced update and now my finger registers fine most times. Still comes up with press harder occasionally.

Make sure you delete the fingerprint you registered from pre-update and redo from scratch.

Yeah thanks, I already have a smart connected home running off google home app. These GHH's will replace the google home in the kitchen and office. I guess I'm excited for this more because I know my wife will get a kick out of using it and because it's something a little bit new - eg now we'll be able to visually see our shopping list or weather forecast instead of just hearing about it, or cast video to it while cooking in the kitchen. I'm also wondering if we'll get onscreen controls for some of our connected stuff, eg it would be great if it has an onscreen colour/brightness wheel for the home lighting.
