lctham:

so I just went into Noels and PB Tech (Wellington) and asked about the 2degrees term.

Both sales people have said you have to stay on 2degrees for a minimum of 3 months before cancelling. Then you pay the balance in full.

People still confident you can quit straight away?

I've done it four times in last 6 or so months with no issue. Going to do it again with this deal too

nickb800: Noel Leeming Paraparaumu were happy to do the free headphones, they have posters advertising it in-store for my noel Leeming members. Didn't need proof of membership.

Funnily enough I've just been in there too.  The only thing was the young lady I talked to thought the 2D terms meant you had to have the plan for a minimum of 3 months - I told her I trust the wise heads on here to get it right so hopefully she is wrong and will check again!! I did notice a couple of things in my quick play that made me consider doing a bit more research before pulling the trigger!  Note I'm coming from the Nexus 6P.

On that note, can someone tell me about the P30Pro alternative to the 6P "back", "home" and "recent apps" soft buttons that are on the 6P?  It seemed if I swiped left or right, both appeared to act as a "back" button?  Couldn't figure out a "home" button equivalent?  The staff didn't seem to be very clued up!

Ha I was just wondering the same thing too, in the settings you have the option for gesture controls (Swipe left for back, swipe right for something else etc) or to display the soft keys below the screen (Back, home, recent apps). I enabled it on the display model and worked fine

I also got told 3 months min by PB Tech and NL, the guy at PB Tech showed me a previous promo banner for the Iphone and 2degrees discount. It stated $200 off on a $55 monthly plan for a min of 3 months. So I think a lot of them are just going off that deal?

Thanks for the above responses :-)  That's a big help.  The older you get the harder the change is - so its nice to know there are options when you're moving from plain vanilla android.

The gestures themselves are entirely optional and off by default. Someone turned them on for the demo unit you played with. Choices are good!

I love the gestures on Huawei phones, they are very similar to iOS gestures so makes everything a breeze.

How about a page that folk can upload their photos- I reckon that would be cool. Seeing that is one of the selling points of this phone and the main reason why im getting it!!

There's also this official case, which adds wireless charging to the P30

They're no Apple, so hopefully it's not too dear!

Because Flickr is limiting non-paid accounts and 500px had a security breach and took then eight months to tell users.
