Was thinking about getting a Galaxy S10e to replace my Nexus 6P (smaller and more manageable).
But now I'm tempted by the camera and beefy battery on the P30 Pro. How is the sound quality from the single bottom speaker?

The pricing for P30 Pro is insane. $1499 for the phone, sign up 2degrees for $400 off and you get the watch? Feels like I got ripped off buying the S10+ a month ago.
The Huawei P30 Series devices are Huawei’s most advanced camera smartphones to date, with the innovative Huawei SuperSpectrum Sensor, Huawei SuperZoom lens, and better image stabilization technology.
Vodafone’s Consumer Director Carolyn Luey said the release of the Huawei P30 series is highly-anticipated, as it has the power to make every Kiwi a professional photographer.
“The Huawei P30 Pro features an all new Leica Quad Camera, capturing images which retain clarity with minimal distortion and reproduces colours realistically and accurately. Both devices feature exceptional AI advances, enabling the front and rear cameras to combine multiple photos taken in quick succession to optimize overexposed and backlit selfies.
“With real-time scene and object recognition, the 40MP main camera recognises specific photographic scenarios and automatically adjusts for optimal shots. Every P30 selfie is a winner,” Luey said.
The Huawei P30 series is available in Black and two new gradient finishes – Breathing Crystal and Aurora – from Vodafone with amazing value for customers with $401 off RRP when purchased Interest Free on a $59.99 open term plan or above during the pre-sale period, plus a FREE Huawei Watch GT worth $349^.
“The Huawei P30 is available for pre-order from today at https://www.vodafone.co.nz/huawei and in stores on Friday 12th April. Customers have been waiting for the HUAWEI P30 series and they won’t be disappointed,” Luey said.

WaxerNZ: Can you cancel after a month? I know someone did with spark to get discount on the mate 20pro and went back to prepay.
Should be able to, thats what I did with my S10+ when I bought on 2degrees.
As a DSLR owner, I find it's a lot better than using a mobile phone when it comes to viewing the image, particularly in bright sunny conditions. With a mobile phone, it's pretty much a guess in these conditions as to exactly what's going to be in the picture, but with a "proper" camera, you have the choice of either a screen OR the viewfinder to frame your picture. So, in bright sunny conditions, I look through the viewfinder and you can see exactly what you're getting, and the picture can also be corrected for your sight.
Another thing about a DSLR is the size of the lens. For example, a top-class 35mm lens alone can weigh as much as a mobile phone, and that's without the weight of the camera. And, of course tele lenses can weigh many times as much as a mobile phone.
Now, obviously, a mobile phone can't compete with a good DSLR, and I don't think Huawei is making that claim, but a few people posting on forums seem to think that once you buy the P30, all your other cameras will become obsolete!
For small-sized images for use on social media, mobile phone pics are great. But, I somehow doubt that a picture taken with a mobile phone can ever compete with the image quality of a DSLR that's using a high-class lens. So, that's why "real" photographers aren't getting too excited about the P30's camera!

Well. Actually. Pretty much. Our phones have replaced our cameras. We have had DLSR's in the past and the effort associated with getting a decent photo with a DSLR in terms of settings, carrying the camera etc. have all been more than compensated for by what our Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro can do.
I'm not taking brochure pictures etc. but these phones have forever changed the way we take photos for our entire family use.
Cheers, Matt.
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
We have a DSLR at home - an old Nikon D50 (around 15 years old now I think). We have a couple of lenses for different uses. We haven't taken the camera out of the bag in a couple of years now...
