WolfChop:

I wanna call out Samsung here for a second.

For those who are planning to use Samsung's trade in service, they're now offering a $150 boost ontop of the value of your phone.

I checked early on during the pre-order deal of the Note 10, and they would offer me around $500 for the Note 9 as a trade in.

So here I'm thinking I'll wait till they do a $300 or double boost as they've done before with previous phones.

So I check the value of the Note 9 this morning and it's $500 WITH the $150 boost on top. The actual trade in value is $350! They've just dropped the actual trade-in values.

That is really slimey of them.

Lol you think that’s bad, I have a spare XS Max I was saving for the trade in, it was $945 before release today and now it’s $640 ($790 with the boost) haha that’s comical! Yeah that puts me right off.

Just asked a Samsung CSR about the trade in deal and apparently Ingram micro dictate the trade in value not Samsung. Samsung said have a whinge to them lol

Email supplied is Samsungtrade-in@ingrammicro.com if you want to inquire about the borked deal. I can’t be bothered I’ll spend my money elsewhere instead.

I think I have a dud unit. It feels really wonky on wireless unfortunately and I just pinged my router from the same room as my Note 9 and I lost 50% of my packets.

I went into the room with the WAP and I am gettin around 25% packet loss standing beside it.

Anyone else having issues?

So here are my battery results for my first full day. And its by far the best i have had with a galaxy note device. I can ohnestly say for the first time, that i have a phone with a true full day battery, wake to sleep. I actually struggled to drain it down to 15% to ge the results.

I managed a 6hr screen on time with max resolution, 80% brightness (just before the red line). And AOD always on (the fingerprint aod is such a big help to find where to place your finger). This was while having a over 14hr on battery time, so a fair decent amount of standby time. From waking at 7:15am at 100%, down to 15% at 11:45pm. Insane.

Im confident if the phone was used continually, that a screen on time of over 7 hours is achievable. And not to mention what you could gain with some battery saving settings.

Very very pleased here.

Yea really good. I actually really liked the note 9 and was hesitant to upgrade. But im glad i did. It just adds on top of what was already fantastic about the note 9. Bigger screen but same form factor. Better battery and performance. It actually holds better in the hand due to it being about a mm thinner. The camera quality is very nice, low light accuracy and color accuracy are much improved. Yea i cant rate it enough.

Im a pretty heavy user with my phone as i prefer it over a laptop, so these benefits are much more valuable to me than perhaps others who use it only as a social media or light activity tasks. I spend hours in web browser and use snote a lot with my daily research activities. Where the bigger screen and faster processing go a long way for me. The improved single core performance appears to be making a noticable impact on my ability to navigate through my tasks.

Oh that's awesome to know! I'm still using the note8 but I'm a pretty heavy user and have to charge every night and everytime I'm in the car. I read someone had an issue with auto connect in their car. Fingers crossed it was user error lol

Just got the PBTech bundle, eek! Excited for the headphones. Hamilton hadnt been sent the powerbanks so I have to wait 1-2 weeks for it to be sent to me. Even hubby was saying the bundle was a good buy but hes buying my note8 off me for $500 😊

It is suggested that the whitestone dome does not effect the fingerprint accuracy. I have found that it does. As i get errors saying "press harder" which id never seen before. But it still functions quite well with just a little more pressure to the sensor.

Whats interesting that i have not seen mentioned at all really. Is the fact that their is not actual earpiece on the top. It seems to actually be an underscreen speaker, which works quite well. Louder than all my previous notes and very little issues with it. Also works well as the left stereo speaker. There is much less focus to the right speaker and the sound seems very well centered.

I just ordered the Dome.  Will let you know what I think once it arrives.  By all accounts the fingerprint sensor should work fine though, so perhaps it was your installation?

Na, iv installed dozens of these by now. The technology is sound wave propogation. Which through any intermediate medium will add additional attentuation. Which could explain the reason why it asks for more pressure.

Quick search shows s10 users experience the same issue. Its still absolutely fine though. Just something to keep in mind though.
