i always use lift to wake with face recognition on my my note 8 and never any problems very quick also had fingerprint reader on. in AOD settings  put display mode in tap to show as when used show always used lots of battery possibly different on note 10 will try but  i reckon show always maybe used 30% more battery big difference.

I find it isn' very good if wearing glasses, but using iris scanning too, and it often has difficulty through the glasses. Face recognition by itself is not very secure as a photo can be used to unlock the phone.

AOD by tapping is what I do, but it has quaick a bit of lag, 1-2-3 seconds lag, compared to my ipad when tapping to wake the screen. But it is a bit of a waste of time, as on an ipad, tap to display, will display the normal unlock screen. I wish the samsungs had this option, I haven't come across away to do it.

I did know that face recognition was not very secure(never any problem for me wearing glasses) and photo could unlock, and needed to use on my note 8 as could never get iris scanning to work and my fingerprint scanner was packing up always getting time out too many tries so used face unlock as just so much quicker. Now on note 10 have changed  AOD to show always which i actually prefer and hopefully not big battery drain as before and when i lift to wake can just scan fingerprint on AOD Fingerprint scanner and into phone instantly so with this don't need face unlock.

I found out that goodlock app doesn't have routines app anymore and this is now called bixby routines on the phone and it actually works far better now.I it use to turn off wifi when leave home and back on when get home and previously just used to disconnect from home wifi and leave wifi still running, now it actually turns all wifi off which is preferable.

Noticed my Power/Bixby button started getting a little wobbly just after 5 days of usage, pic below for reference. Anyone else having the same issue?

Almost a week in, and this is still the best phone I’ve owned in recent years. It’s one of those milestone devices, like the iPhone 3G, 4S, 7+ and X. I’m using a reasonably light/thin Spigen case until my skins arrive.... they’ve been sitting in Auckland longer than it took for them to get from America to NZ. Hopefully they arrive this week. Then I can ditch the case and have the form factor it deserves. The Whitestone Dome screen protector is excellent too. Zero issues there, and it curves to match the display.

I’ve never run out of battery, even without charging during the day (work desk/car/lounge) the worst I’ve gone to bed with is about 30% battery remaining, and I’m a heavy user. But the fact that you can fast charge it in an hour is amazing so often it’ll sit on the coffee table in the evening topping up while I cook dinner.

DeX is fantastic, but even the Your Phone Win10 integration is great.

I’m super happy with this device. It won’t be for everyone, it’s huge....but it’s the perfect size for me and what I’ve been waiting for for a long time.

What are the skins you've bought?  can you link to them please?

Native android will do some magic that truns wifi off when you leave home without a 3rd party app.  I think it needs location history enabled because I just turned location history off (location is still on) and it just stopped working.

@gehenna, was the whitestone dome hard to install?  I have some knock off ali express protectors but am too imtimidated to install them...

I agree @gehenna definitely the best phone iv'e had and loving everything with it battery, sound finger print scanner and response with apps but still after 1 week setting up, as setting up from scratch not use smart switch or other software to transfer as after so many changes of phones settings getting too messy.Still not had chance after 1 week to use spen or camera so still so much to explore with this phone.
Have looked at whitestone dome screen protector and been put off by so many comments about glue going into usb port or holes so reluctant to use and pricey. Iv'e always used bodyguardz screen protectors very reliable and easy to put on tried a few cheap glass and plastic ones from trade me and shops put on but absolutely useless lasted about 1 week even ordered by mistake from bodyguardz glass which was ok lasted about 6 months till cracked at least got free replacement with guarantee and spen never worked well with glass protector. At the moment just got preinstalled protector on which is ok bit slippery some times to use but later perhaps might give  whitestone a try if easier to use is mobile fun the best place to order this or do you know somewhere else has.

@landcruiserguy @johny007g I had no install problems with the Whitestone Dome.  I did have to watch some YouTube videos instead of following the paper instructions.  But it's all pretty straight forward as long as you give yourself space and prepare properly.  I had no problems with glue running into places it shouldn't, or any bubbles etc.  I got it installed first try.  It's not "easy", but as long as you take it slow and follow the instructions carefully it's fine.

I've been thinking about my Note 10+ and how good it is vs cost.

Would I recommend it to someone else?  Well, that would depend on what their budget is and what features they need/want.

You can buy a Galaxy A50 for $450, it has a 6.4" AMOLED screen, good battery, decent processor - it is a good phone for the price and arguably much better value.

BUT: The Note 10+ has a 2x zoom camera that he A50 doesn't.  The Note is also IP68 dust & waterproof.  Then there's the stabilised video and the S-Pen.  For performance you get a more powerful CPU and 12GB RAM.  For storage you get 256GB or even 512GB - more than enough for most people.  Of course 6.8" is bigger than 6.4".  The under-screen fingerprint reader is ultrasonic rather than optical.

I think that many people would be happy with the A50, but the Note 10+ does offer more things for those that want them.  I really like having the S-Pen, it is something that I would miss if I change to a phone without it next time.  I like as large a screen as I can get, as long as the phone still fits in a pocket (my 10.5 tablet wouldn't make a good phone).  For use as a GPS navigator on a motorbike trip - I really need that IP68 water resistance.

If you are happy to pay to have the expensive phone then I say "go for it, the Note 10+ is a really fantastic phone!".

If you wouldn't spend over $1k on a phone and think half that is where you are happy, the Note 10+ isn't for you.

Dam that looks sleek, every dbrand skin I've ever owned though never fits properly. Always sharp edges to them.

Battery is exceptionally variable. 2 Days I have had 45% battery left at bed time, but last night 15%. I am not aware of a perceptible difference in usage that would account for a 30% loss in battery.

If anything, I spent more time in my car than usual yesterday so it would have been charging during that time.

Looking at videos on whitestone dome installation and was surprised that looked so hard but then saw flossy carter video doing on note 9 and he made it look easy and also i always thought that it was just liquid glass that set hard and never realized there was an actual screen protector included also.Still not sure about price and can't find price for uv light.

Interesting info this person did tests with 45 watt charger
