It came with warp charger in the box and an adapter included in the package. why do you care so much about this bro hahaha who cares if it doesnt follow regulations, its the best way to do it. include the warp charger, and add an adapter. just plug it in and enjoy the Warp :D

because im quiet keen on the phone and specifically asked them what you get with it. and they said a NZ charger.

im not keen to support a business who blatantly flouts the laws by selling something illegally. so ill wait to find someone who is selling it with the required accessories.

Man i really dont get you, you say "the law" like they are stealing the phones from the factory and selling it on the black market! but oh well, you have free will i guess. i just dont get why you are so stuck on this topic. who cares if its an adapter or a charger. so if they putin a 2$ samsung charger instead of an adapter, you would be happy? its just a very strange thing to be so concerned about. plug in the warp charger into the NZ adapter and BOOM it becomes an NZ charger! haha

EDIT: FYI all parallel import shops do the same thing. Expert info tech, mobile station, supero, and many others i have tried. But i have never met anyone who had a problem with it like you do 😅

no they dont :) lots give you a NZ charger not an adapter, Noel leeming is a parallel importer as is DSE.

and thats your choice, and this is mine.

and yes i would be happy with a $2 charger because it complies with the law. "plug in the warp charger into the NZ adapter and BOOM it becomes an NZ charger!" and yes you are correct, but you can not sell a phone like that though.

but yes you are right enough of this, i have the info i need.

Probably something to keep in mind about the super fast charging modes. Great if you want a quick boost in a pinch once in a while, but I would assume the average consumer doesn't pay much attention to the *its gonna fook your battery if you do it ere'day son.

I'm sure the longevity of the battery is of little concern to manufacturers, it's often something overlooked by consumers as well, it doesn't really matter how quickly the battery charges if it only lasts a year and you end up having to buy another mobile.

Oneplus 8 series is coming soon to PB tech. And it says there "Please note that 5G is not currently enabled for use in NZ."

I wonder how they will price it and what bundles they will include 🤔

I still dont get it whey 5g will not be enabled. NZ has sub-6 5g and the phone supports it. What about the parallel imported ones from supero. Pretty sure they have 5g enabled.

@NikT care to explain please

That is odd that they are saying 5G wont be enabled, are they getting a different firmware(cant see how they would do it otherwise) or are they referring to the fact that you cannot use 5G with dual sims at the moment(locked to 4G/4G right now 5G/4G will come later via a OTA).

If they are would seriously consider going with someone else way to much history of this and phones being out of sync with updates.

Not seen it mentioned yet either but Parallel Imported now have up the 8 pro $1699(black 128) and $1899(green 256) oddly no non pro variant. Got my OP6 from them don't think I will be getting a 8 from them at that price.

I'm guessing it's posterior covering due to 5g not really being available in the wild.

I ordered on a Thursday night and received on following Wednesday. They ship pretty fast and use DHL. If it was a Samsung phone I'd wait for PB or carrier preorder bundles but since oneplus doesn't do any bundles here I just pulled the trigger.

from pbtech

OnePlus have provided us with the following statement: “Currently, the OnePlus 8 Series is 5G-capable in the below countries: USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, Italy, Spain, Austria and China."

As the official OnePlus distributer in NZ, we have tested the product prior to launch and can confirm that 5G does not currently work in NZ. This is not specific to our stock and will be the case for all OnePlus 8 series regardless of where you purchase the product. The difference between us and parallel importers (other than charger, real 24 month warranty service, certification, and demo units) is that we have taken the time and expense to test this and let you know upfront so that you can make an informed decision.

We expect that unofficial workarounds could emerge, and OnePlus could choose to enable 5G for other regions in a future software update. We also expect that parallel importers currently advertising the 5G capabilities of this product will have quite unhappy customers.

Thanks for your interest – regardless of 5G, the OnePlus 8 series are truly excellent products, and we have decided to launch them anyway to give our customers the choice.
