And yet people to decompile ROMs, investigate bootloader unlocking hacks and all sorts of other detailed investigations have found no evidence of this...

I suppose the suggestion now is going to be that while people who write RSA code for bootloader locking etc and yet still have their work hacked, aren't as smart/clever as the "Secret phone listening to you" coders who are able to do all these brilliant things undetected.

You are using logic against a conspiracy theory, this has never worked. Once people decide how their favorite conspiracy works anyone who presents evidence against it is now part of the original conspiracy so can be safely ignored. Its just shouting into the wind.

TV's have been caught recording conversations & sending that to 3rd parties (cough cough Samsung)
So is it really such a big leap to think our phone could be doing the same ?

I detest phone phone apps that cant be turned off , and allways run in the background whether we want them to or not .
Plenty of apps have access to the ph mic .
Plenty of app developers have been proven to be less than what I would call trustworthy . Did that tourch app or newspaper app really need to access to all your contacts etc .

But, most people dont care . So it can only get worse .

LOL now its giving her real estate adverts and Samoan car sales adverts non stop (when on websites or FB with ads)  :D

This is fun... for me ;)

She just sat here saying "new husband" multiple times.... waiting for Tinder ads to pop up.

jump on her phone and google some random things while she isn't looking.

then her ads will move to those topics.

Annoys me that things I query on my Windows PC/Android Tablet end up showing ads on my wifes Ipad/Windows laptop over the next few days.

She can tell me quite accurately what products I have been searching for lately by the ads she sees.

We do not share ANY accounts or logins on each others devices before anyone mentions that.

I do not have a facebook account (wife does) - But I do use Chrome pretty much 100% of the time.

I must assume the ads work it out by our internet IP address.

I have no problem with ads on my devices for things I have been looking at - but really dont think its great to have them on every device in the house.

What if I was searching for a surprise gift/special occasion - She will probably see ads for it quicker than me!

Then dont use Chrome, dont use Google search (try duckduckgo), Dont install FB apps , install browser adblockers tracking blockers.
Remove any ph app thats 'allways on' , keep ph as clean of apps as possible .

Or use these apps and accept thats the way it is, thats why these apps & search engines are free

If you've been trained properly the only surprise will be if you have got all the subtle and not so subtle hints and they won't be coming from google.
