Argh, our 4G Note 20 Ultra has never received an update since it first came out last year (2.5 One UI, security patch 1 July 2020) and I just installed Frija and it can't find anything in auto mode or manual mode and even tried the various firmware websites and it doesn't seem to be able to find any thing for SM-N985F, with CSC code: NZC, what is going on??

I have the same issue. I believe the problem is that 2degrees has never sold this model, but we've ended up with a 2degrees version of Android anyway, and they've never signed off on any software update to the version they didn't provide. I did get an update a couple of days after getting the phone that changed the CSC, installed the 2degrees applications, and enabled the eSIM, but nothing else, and ever since it always insists it's up to date. I have never quite gotten around to figuring out how to wrangle the update manually but I suppose I will have to eventually.

I am a bit disappointed with Samsung, and their support has been unhelpful.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Is anyone having an issue where you're on a call, and after 5-10 minutes the other person on the other end can't hear you? You can hear them fine but they lose the ability to hear you. Has happened ever since I had the phone and was hoping the android 11 update / recent security patches would've fixed it but it hasn't. Is the Spark variant (not that I think it matters)

I did have similar issues a while back.  Either that or the call would drop after a time.  Haven't talked on phone long enough recently to know if it's still the case.

Odd - yeah the call never disconnects, they just stop being able to hear me until I hang up the call and call back

My issue, and it's frustrating as hell, is that for the first 2 seconds after I answer a call, no-one can hear me. So it's answer, wait 2 seconds and then greet, otherwise I have to repeat myself.

Which carrier version do you have? And do you have my issue? I don't seem to have your issue

this is caused by VoLTE. disable VoLTE and problem gone.

Another camera stability/performance update just released.  Also overall performance improvements.

This is just unbelievable, we have had plenty of smartphones and never had any issue with OTA updates.

What do you guys recommend to get it updated, was hoping to go to the new 3.1UI or at least 3.0 UI?

Cheers

PS: It's the wife's phone so don't want to erase it and need to keep everything on it while doing the update.

All Samsung firmware these days is OXM or multi region. Same firmware for all regions. I would download the latest firmware via Frija for your model and flash it. Everything will work just like before. Note: when upgrading Android OS versions e.g 10 to 11, I highly recommend doing a factory reset.

I'm on Spark, strange.  What version are you on now?  The update took me to security patch level Feb 1 2021.

Oh interesting - did you figure that out yourself or is it a known issue? Does it also only effect the Note 20 on VOLTE? Other people I know using VOLTE hasn't mentioned anything

I figured it out.

This is my first phone with VoLTE so I have no idea why it does that.
