I did see this phone too and was going to start a thread with these exact questions, but was too busy at the time and sort of forgot about it.

Makes me wish I'd not bought the A52s and waited for this. Excellent value for money.

Colin5:

My one did this too yesterday. I just rebooted it and it's been fine since.

Until today, I noticed it about 3 times. I think it may be having trouble as I move around more and it's switching between wifi/4g/5g networks.

Some apps will complain about no network connectivity.

Doing things like turn wifi off/on can bring connectivity back, and the the date automatically  re-syncs

I sent mine back, it was completely unusable due to the ongoing time sync issue.

Nice enough phone, but never again....

NikT:

Which network are you on, and which software build are you running? Are you able to turn off automatic date/time sync as a temporary workaround?

We tested Nord CE 2 5G extensively prior to launch and did not encounter this. Happy to report the bug to OnePlus if we can reproduce.

I did some testing and can reproduce it.

With only a Skinny SIM, and I move into Spark 5G zone ( CHCH CDB ) it fails.

Turn mobile data off/on the time resyncs ok and then fails again a couple of minutes later.

Disable 5G and it's still failing where 5G is deployed.

With only a 2 Degrees sim and 5G it's ok. ( UOC )

As a workaround I have swapped my 2 Degrees SIM to slot 1 and Skinny SIM to Slot 2

juggalo28: Yes my one plus Nord 8 that a got a year ago had 4gb update and now it has 5g volte and wifi calling working so I’m very happy now

I was thinking of getting the Nord CE but Noel Leeming has the Nord 8 (128GB) for $597 and from I have read the Snapdragon SOC is suppposed to be a better chipset than the Mediatek in the CE.

If the Nord 8 has VoLTE and 5G then that makes it quite compelling. What carrier are you on?

Update re: Network time sync on Spark. We have not been able to reproduce it with our sample unit, and are pulling a retail unit from stock to replicate and pass through to both Spark and OnePlus. Appreciate your patience, folks.

That is the original Nord from 2020. It does not support 5G (at all) or VoLTE (in NZ).

I wonder what phone this user has?

Thanks. So is the Nord CE 2 a good mid-range phone?  Just wanting to use something until I can see the specs and availbiliy of the Pixel 7.

You'll need to get out and about with the phone to test, you'll need to move around different cell towers and in and out of 5G coverage areas etc.

The phone sitting on my desk and not moving would not have the issue, it is only when you begin to move about.

Are you based in Christchurch/Canterbury by any chance? Checking with Spark, we suspect it may be a localised issue. Currently unable to reproduce in Auckland or top of the south. Few more drive tests to go.
