I'm on one.nz with Pixel 7. No Wifi calling as yet (not that I can find anyway).

Are you on the Android 14 Beta?

In case it helps anyone:

Pixel 4a (5G)
Android 13 - 5 July 2023 Security Update
2Degrees
VoLTE - Not provisioned

VoWifi - Not provisioned

It's been interesting reading and learning from this thread. Explains why incoming calls kick me down to 3G (and why on my South Island holiday I had 4G but couldn't place calls).

I have an ancient sim and going to get an esim because of moving overseas. Will post back if it improves things.

Post of gratitude. Thank you all for your contributions on this thread! Wife and I both have Pixel 6 on Kogan, and with recent changes to work habits have found our house is a dead spot for calls. Was at wits end looking at cell boosters or switching providers.

I found this thread and using the Shizuku/Pixel IMS method was able to active wifi calling quite easily.

Thank you!

Pixel 4a wouldn't work. In fact the whole voLTE/voWiFi only works with Pixel 6 and higher (the ones that use Google's chip and not Snapdragon)

Good to hear. Pixel IMS is our saviour. The whole WiFi calling with PixelIMS works easy as and does wonders for people without coverage. I am waiting for Spark to officially activate SMS over WiFi so I could receive text messages!

But there is plenty of examples online of it working in other countries. Or is this NZ specific? Has it been confirmed by Google somewhere? (It seems to me that Google is the one not enabling it for NZ telcos)

It's definitely a choice by google / providers to not provision our 5G phones. With my pixel 5, I get 5G and Wifi calling pretty much anywhere I travel in Europe - in NZ, no soup for you! It's a deliberate choice, not any limitation.

On my 6a now on kogan. I have working volte and 5g.

Although for some reason sometimes it wont connect to the mobile data everytime i turn it on and i have to manauly drop back to 3g and wait for it to connect then set it back to 5g for the data to connect properly.

I tried the vowifi pixelims patch and it just resulted in all calls going back to 3g. in otherwords it broke my volte.

The issues im experincing are probaly an artifact of being on grapaheneos and not stock when I switched sims so there is probaly some weridness where its not provisioned properly.

I will probaly go back to stock at somepoint soon.

Update: went back to stock and the issues remained. But after adding the kogan arp settings everything now it works.
Even pixelims works with vowifi.

Managed to totally embarrass myself with a poor slingshot support lady, turns out my mobile was on 4G because the battery was low.
