@Thorak:

Coming from an Oppo Find X8 Pro, the battery life on this is ROUGH if not outright terrible. The 25w charging speeds are also not uptoscratch for 2025, a quick 10-15 minutes on the Oppo gives me enough for half a day, an hour on the Fold will give me a couple hours. Can't see me holding onto this for very long.

(Drop a bloody cinder black on my Oppo, destroyed lol)

You decided to use it, instead of selling it? If so, you should remove the listing, surely.

Oh yeah good catch. Still for sale but my other phone played with a cinder block and lost so had to open.

Will edit the listing

In which case better remove the "brand new, unopened" statement.

I was really surprised to see how the Fold 7 went against Jerry's tests,

especially that it survived the bend test when wide open

considering how thin it is.

Anyone else wish the fingerprint ready was a little more raised? Find myself missing it constantly and unable to really press it to lock or turn the screen on. Feels too reccessed.

I have the setting enabled to unlock and launch the home screen when the sensor is touched.  It means you don't have to fully depress the button.  I also set up 4 fingers so it's easily unlocked depending how I am holding the phone while it's folded closed.

I do find that doublepressing the button to launch the camera isn't as easy as my previous Samsung devices.  I might end up using a lock screen shortcut instead.

Oh didn't know that was an option. Where do I find it.

Settings, search Fingerprint and select Fingerprint Always On.

Explore the phone's settings further than that, too, you might find it competes with the other devices you mentioned in more than just specs. Most behaviours can be altered in software to suit how you use the device.  And you can add Good Lock for more settings.

Yes, the unlock button was something I have noted as slightly more difficult to use than my ZF3. Mind you, the old phone had a wallet cover that woke the phone when opened.

The work around I had been using on the ZF7 was to double tap the screen, then find the fingerprint sensor. But certainly the settings change above will be something I will change.

It's good to see that a lot of the Good Lock settings for Foldables have moved to the native OneUI settings.  There's still a few that you can only access via Good Lock, though, so make sure you have it if you have a Fold, or you're missing out on customisations you'll probably enjoy.

A few things haven't yet been added to Good Lock for the Fold 7?

Wsan't a point, was a question. Does it take them a while to update?

It's frequently updated, there are some things there now, some things will continue to be added, and some things in Good Lock will eventually make their way to native OneUI settings if enough people take up the features and use them.

Is anyone experiencing either:

  1. Display scaling inconsistencies between inner and outer screen means I can only get the inner screen looking how I want it, but then the outer screen is too small for my eyes and fingers - but the can't be scaled independently.  Anyone know of a workaround?  Currently I have the fonts sized higher than I'd like, which makes some menus on the outer screen run out of space.
  2. Wallpaper changes back to the Samsung ootb default at random times.  Doesn't seem to be tied to anything in Modes and Routines etc.  I can't find where it's being told to do it, or why, or how to get the change to be sticky once I change it back.  On my S24U I would change the wallpaper to black when enabling Sleep mode, which has a routine to turn off lights and other settings.  That worked fine on the S24 and would change back to the correct wallpaper each morning.  That's not enabled on the Fold7 so I don't think it's that.

Thanks

Think they got the cover screen size pretty well bang on. Comfortable to use but big enough to be useful.

Tell you what though, phone gets HOT while gaming for 5 minutes.
